not all of dalaran is destroyed though just a portion. khadgar probably teleported it out to some place out of reach

Dalaran isn’t an Alliance or a Horde city.

It’s Khadgar’s city, and he’s so neutral he saw the Alliance and Horde gearing up for a 4th war and decided to leave and take his city with him.

The worst author self insert was getting over used. So they had to write him out. He really brought down the quality of the story.

Jaina took over and made the Kirin Tor Alliance-serving, then she flew a way in a hissy fit to give the city to Khadgar who went back to Neutral.

On the positive side, at least one Alliance player is finally acknowledging that Dalaran was an Alliance city all along and that Horde players have almost never had a Horde-themed HQ for an expansion.

Horde-themed expansion bases for Horde players:
BfA - Zandalar
WoD - Warspear
