Yes and no. They’ve already said they’re working on some ‘new and improved’ dungeon finder type tool.
Which means it most likely won’t please anyone. The purists who want an authentic experience won’t be happy. The gatekeeping bots, boosters and gdkp crowd won’t be happy.
Blizzard just loves to create drama out of nothing. Making a problem where none existed in the first place. “If it ain’t broke…break it! Then implement some perfunctory measure that pisses everyone off.” The Blizzard way.
Anything less than LFD will be rejected by the community, which are their customers.
It will inevitably lead to a failure of WoTLK classic adoption, and those players will not move to retail, which means revenue loss.
Revenue loss due to poor decisions costs people’s jobs.
I wouldn’t dare to cut off a classic feature out of the game and call it “classic” ater that.
Why would you ignore your community when majority of those actively are actually telling you that what you’re doing is wrong and will hurt the game.
We are not asking for a pony, it is a basic game feature that was added in the game later (just like dual spec) and should be available since we are getting the latest patch of the game.
It is not entitlement. I don’t know what kind of education you had when your parents raised you, but if you think that is entitlement, maybe they failed on your character built.
IF IF IF Blizzard intended to replace the LFD tool that we are all familiar with during the original WoTLK with the functionality that retail has now, that probably will not be negatively received.
However, if that was the Dev team’s intention, then they really thwomped the gnome by not clearly stating their design plan. More sloppy communication, so typical of Trans-Blizzard, but nonetheless extremely aggravating.
They don’t engage in trying to do random dungeons, they just have guilds or groups of people they run with already. So they aren’t effected by this.
Not sure why they care, they don’t engage in the “Community” anyways, why do they care about this mythical undefined “Community” aspect that was somehow get damaged by RDF?
I’m willing to be it’s because they know they don’t have to worry about it, but do enjoy the idea of other people struggling to play the game, because they are narcissistic trolls.
I pugged a few nights ago to get my weekly kara badge run. Zero guildees or people I knew in the run.
It was a rushed formation, pretty much only obliging basic group necessities like 1-2 tanks, 2 healers, and DPS, didn’t really vet anyone.
It’s funny because I couldn’t find a 2nd healer, so I actually put on my healing set and healed the whole raid as Feral druid with a healing set on (woot for being a hybrid!).
We ended up clearing every single boss, and because of the interesting process of setting up the group and laughing with the new faces over the wackiness of the comp, and how I was feral-healing it, it ended up actually being a pretty fun run, and everyone was having a good time and joking about it.
I don’t think any of this would have happened in RDF or any kind of queue system for Karazhan if it existed.
Thank everything Blizzard is axing it from WOTLK…more chances for stuff like this to happen. That’s the beauty of Classic.
wtf is that supposed to mean? wotlk is 14years old game, nothing new, everything is well known, classic wotlk is for casuals & if you think you will have any challenges by wasting your time spamming chat because LFD will be removed? i suggest you to visit a psychologist.
Wrath of the Lich King dungeon design was, as stated by the original devs who made it, designed for a more casual audience. If you don’t like the classic WotLK dungeon designs and features, you’re free to play retail where the dungeons were designed with multiple higher difficulties for both casual and hardcore players. Don’t ruin classic for the casual audience that is returning/has been waiting for it.
