What a nice classic experince without LFD

Being a dps is rough, if you don’t want to wait. Roll a healer or tank, instant invites.

Sometimes providing an “option” comes at the sacrifice of other things that are worsened by that option being available.

Has happened to me too. Not jist a one time story.

You can quit using metaphors here, because it simply doesn’t fit.

The option existed in the game and should be available.
Those that don’t want it, can simply not use it. Maybe everyone move to the same server, make a guild “We hate LFD” and play together, never queue for LFD, just leave the whole majority of players alone who want it.

on a side note, what will be the social experience for any new players joining Wotlk-C?
they’ll only have 3options for leveling!

1-level up in empty world, without having any chance to ever enter any dungeon!
2-buy shop lvl 70boost.
3-buy gold to get boosted with.

the more tos friendly option is 70 is the sugar mommy/daddy of the account for newer folk.

at least up to 30 dungeons some server’s rates are okay. the 70 can make the 5 to 15 gold for an alt.

Hell I ahve seen nice 15g sale prices for strath. With the caveat they are usuaully “afk” runs so you get no loot. Seller even says you WILL stay at the entrance, no follows.

Needing just the xp not a bad deal.

I see strath real busy day 1 of DK access. PvP grob should be real interesting that day lol. almost 50/50 server…both sides know each other WILL be there. The field should be covered in bodies lol.

Actually you can’t even do all those.

Blizzards apparently going to be killing high levels boosting low levels in dungeons, akin to the season of mastery change.

At this point they are denying you the ability to easily access dungeons at your level range, denying you being able to be power leveled by friends / guildies, and forcing you to quest through 1-68 content to even begin starting on current content. Where you will be mindlessly grinding quests and killing mobs. (Not to mention gathering through 3 expansions worth of materials to level up skills)

Effectively your only option will be to buy a level 70 shop boost with IRL money.

I’m pretty sure this is what blizzard wants, they want you to shell out $60 to skip the leveling and get to the current content, and doing everything they can to make other options less attractive.

What does this argument accomplish when it’s already been [planned to be] removed?

Do you think Blizzard removed it because they think everyone is forced to use it and manual group forming disappears?

if you think dungeon finder will not exist in wotlk-c then you’re dead wrong! blizz might not add it on release but for sure they’ll add it later during wotlk-c “once they notice the decrease of subs”

I wonder how the Anti-RDF crew would react if Blizzard put RDF on some servers but not on others and allowed free transfers for a time. Would that make them happy? Or would they still sit on the RDF servers complaining about it and the community?

People love to complain so probably

They know they would be moving to dead servers.

My prediction, if they bring RDF at any point, is that a portion of the bad player/non-meta specs/classes or just someone half-afking will come to the forums to complain they are being kicked from groups and that something needs to be done about how people are kicked from groups, beyond just the majority vote.

Currently, it takes some effort to find a replacement player for your group (exceptions exist, ofc) and it may seem worth to slog through with the bad player than to sit around to find a replacement and wait for them to arrive. With RDF, once that no-kick window is gone and you get rid of the bad player, you simply que up for someone to be instant ported to you.

I have a feeling this will be a rude awakening for some players who think RDF is some drum circle where everyone is willing to poop through a dungeon because everyone saved time forming the group. I am guilty of doing this in retail where the leveling dungeons are face roll, so I do not think how easy WOTLK dungeons will make a difference. I think it should be included in WOTLK, at least at some point, even if it offers no rewards beyond automatically forming the group.

I’m literally calling for Connected Realms to fix this problem instead of transfers and megaservers. Megaservers are bad, because the same effect as Cross-Realm LFD occurs within a single megaserver.

Just because I’m not 100% with you, doesn’t mean I’m the devil

It is going to be reverted.

You know it.
I know it.
Everyone knows it.

But we have to keep pushing otherwise minority voices like yours will keep pushing the removal of this feature that will not help at all the game.

My honest, hand-to-heart, opinion is that it will not be. I fully see them sticking to their guns on this.

obviously staged

apparently you haven’t been playing official blizzard games from long time, if you are? you would know for sure that LFD will come to wrath-C, it’s a matter of time if it’s coming on release or later during the phases.

See.
I dislike and distrust the community council for many things, but this time they are all sticking with the community (except for one person) talking about the removal of LFD:

So, if they read our feedback from forums + community council, yeah, they are reinstating LFD.

I just started playing again 2.5 weeks ago for first time since Vanilla AQ Classic (2 years ago). I want to play a Warlock in WotLK, so I transferred my level 40 warlock from a dead server over to Whitemane.

I’ve been leveling through dungeons and questing and haven’t been boosting, mostly because I don’t have the gold to afford it.

Yesterday, I was level 66 and trying to form a group for Underbog. It took almost 30 minutes to set the group up and summon everyone. After we killed the 2nd boss ( Ghaz’an - the hydra up on the platform), we dropped down and our healer (wearing 5 pieces of gear between level 7-17) disconnects. We waited about 5 minutes and then started spamming LFG for a replacement. About 10 minutes later, we finally found another healer, but had to run outside to summon him and run back through the dungeon, which took about another 5-7 minutes. After that, we easily finished the dungeon.

Altogether, it took 30 minutes to completely form the group, 20 minutes to find and summon a replacement healer and about 30 minutes to run the dungeon. That’s 50 minutes of downtime just to run a 30-minute dungeon.

This happens to me at least once or twice every day on average for 2 straight weeks. It’s not a rare occurrence and happens very frequently to everyone I’ve talked to.
