That was my experience in the first stress test, and it was wonderful. My group joked around, got to know each other. Added each other as friends. See, those downtimes have value. I know you don’t understand that, and the devs certainly don’t. But that’s when you get to know people, socialize, make friends. Something severely lacking from the Current WoW. And something that Layering will inhibit in Classic.

It’s a way different story when you’re paying $15/month for a glorified chat room.

If your so brain dead you spent two hours tunnel vision an optional quest in a starter zone you deserve all the pain and frustration you got.

Most normal people realized this game is somewhat of a sandbox nature and made hunting parties to find quieter areas to hunt monsters for exp to get ahead of the pack.

I have no sympathy for the idiots that just blindly follow quest helper arrow to the same high traffic area it’s sending everyone else, if your to stupid to use your brain to find a better spot that’s on you.

You understand a level 1 is going to die to that level 5. This isn’t a pserver, you’re going to die just as bad as you did in vanilla if you try that. A 5 man group going out of the starting zone to grind mobs isn’t going to work very well.

Yes, he used the term blade, but anyone in NetOps knows what he is referring to. He said this is one of 10,000 “blades” or processing power units. If that was THE blade then he just dumped everyone who was on Tich to loading screen.

You are still arguing a false assumption based on a very good video sure, but you are missing the bigger point. Servers are all clustered and ran off of many other resources in a huge pool that can be allocated.

The claim that they should do that for Classic is ridiculous. Its expensive and there is no way we are going to get that level or resources approved for a “test” of a release.

Your queues with no layering and queues with layering, are not the same thing.

There won’t be queues with layering. That’s the point of the system. To allow everyone to play at the same time without having to make a bunch of realms that’ll be empty later down the line.

But that initial population will decline rapidly. There won’t be millions of people all trying to play at the same time except for the first couple of days (especially hour 1 of the launch). People will spread out and log in and different times, and the queues will go away.

We don’t need layering.
We don’t need to add dozens more realms in panic.
We don’t need dynamic respawns.

Sometimes, as is the case now, the best option is to do nothing.
