We're porting Retail add-ons to Beta, Come Get 'Em

Do you know of anyone working on Omen? Or some other threat meter? That would be super useful.

Without going through the whole post here’s my wishlist;

Bartender or any action bar customization addon

Prat or similar chat extension addon

Postal for easy multi-mailing

MoveAnything might not be necessary since I know you can unlock player and target portraits and move them as default.

Tom Tom/Cartographer/any map type addon for Co-ordinates and map notes.

DBM, Recount and Omen/KTM (obvious)

AtlasLoot! My favourite addon ever. For those long flight paths it’s always fun to look through loot tables and see what I need and where to get it.

Outfitter or Some form of gear-set addon to easily switch between gear for different situations.

Mouse Tooltip - I’ve always much preferred to have enemy tooltips appear above the mouse cursor instead of way in the bottom corner of the screen.

You guys are doing great work, keep it up and consider a paypal donation link somewhere, I reckon a lot of people would be happy to pitch in to help you guys keep working on this stuff.

I’m pretty sure that actual authors and owners of the addons won’t be among them unless they have given the licencing to do so.

The mail system is modern, rather than vanilla-authentic in that you can mail multiple items at once. The items will take an authentic vanilla 1 hr in the mail, however, even to your own alts.

That’s a fair point that I didn’t consider.

That’s good to know, are you able to open bulk mail with one-click? That would still warrant Postal’s revival if it’s not default.

Well, I must sadly report another casualty. When it came to our beloved TomTom, I am simply not well-enough versed in how to adjust coordinate transforms appropriately for the modern map APIs to work with the original versions of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. I guess we’ll just have to wait for the folks with the know how to give us coordinates and waypoints.

I might be miss-quoting but…

I think the name issues with Tom Tom started with the first BfA version, maybe an older version would work?

I don’t understand.

Indeed that would seem to be the case.

I did take a look at that. Unfortunately, the map APIs changed since back then, so there’s another incompatibility.

Okay. Normally when I communicate I endeavor to be understood and I’m charitable enough not to assume malice on the part of someone that’s being vague or unclear. I tell you this only because your statements have left me essentially with nothing more to say than what I already have.

Quest helper is the only one I want at launch.

## License: All Rights Reserved

You are in breach of licence trying to re-publish this and probably all the other addons on your git site.

By default if an addon doesn’t have a licence specified then it is All Rights Reserved.

Yeah no it’s not. By default all addons are completely open source code because the nature of a scripting language is that it’s open source and anyone can freely modify it.

I can take your version of whatever add on modify it however I like and publish it on my personal github however I wish too.

You can modify it for personal use only. You have no authority to republish the addon with or without changes.

This has been thrashed out many times over the years. The sites that stole and tried to republished addons without authorisation no longer exists.

I setup a list here for any WoW Classic addons I come across that are working with the beta. I’ll keep adding any that I see to the list for players.

I’d honestly love to see someone attempt to downport Immersion

There are fan updates of abandoned addons hosted even on curse.

I’m yet to see a fan update of a current addon… like DBM, Clique, TomTom…

Cladhaire of Clique and TomTom among others has been maintaing their addons since vanilla. This is a pretty shably way to be treated.
