The biggest issue I see is that, for the beta, there is no reason to go around roleplaying. Though, it’d be great to have at least one addon when it release ‘cause I’ll be right there beside ya rollin’ on an rp server.
yea but it’s literally mandatory on fights like Noth the Plaguebringer - if Mages don’t mash their decursive then it’s a wipe - simple as that
Of course, I doubt we’re going to see significant role playing on beta. Though if I do bump into anyone who is role playing I may very well join in (just for the fun of it).
Technically, I was actually answering someones question above. They had asked what “TRP3” and “MRP” were. I wasn’t specifically asking for them myself! (Though it would seem a few people thought so, since I didn’t quote the person I was responding to.)
That said, I think it might be useful in some ways. TRP3/MRP both make extensive use of the API to do things in unique ways. They’d both probably tell you a lot about exactly what can and can’t be done. (I will, of course, be rolling on a RP server, but that’s neither here nor there.)

Yeah. That was their argument on it back in the day: it automated gameplay.
Like healing addons now I feel are rather tame compared to those addons in vanilla.

Unfortunately, but not unexpectedly, Omegall was absolutely right. The Threat APIs are gone. There’s no back-porting Omen. We may be able to forward-port the Vanilla version of KLHThreatMeter or some other Vanilla threat meter, though. One additional complication may be that add-on communication with chat channels (which is what Vanilla add-ons do), might not be possible in Classic.

its great, but, right now all i want is a quest tracker, like monkey quest. not directions, just an easy way to know i have x quest

I believe that’s built in.
not really. built in is 5 quests maximum, and only if they have lootable items. you also have to add them to the tacker. monkey quest used to put a tracker on screen to show you quests, requirements and difficulty. thats all, but it was all quests

I know that Classic and private servers are built differently but there is a HB addon for them.
I’ve used HB since TBC and won’t be able to change now.
