Nope, nobody is going to port it, because blizzard will ban it. It’s very simple for them to block it and they have stated on several occasions that they would. If you’re so confident be “useful” yourself and port it.
I don’t think you know the definition of hypocrisy, you should probably look it up in a dictionary.
I’ve never once said anything hypocritical about classic/vanilla.
The fact that we only heard crickets from the #nochanges crowd when Blizzard talked about disabling things like decursive to “stay in line with the spirit of vanilla.”
Compared to the fact that the same people are begging Blizzard to ban addons that ONLY use the vanilla API to implement new features is indisputably, objectively hypocrisy.
Another #nochanger who is actually fine with #changestheyagreewith
We plan to port some of the pfQuest features into questie, mainly the DB and map display mode (small colored dots) as options
Last I heard Shagu didn’t plan to port it, but that may change
On that note, more questie updates:
tooltip clustering logic, tooltips are now combined if you mouse over notes that are close together / on top of eachother
add wanted poster quests
fixed a bug with event-trigger quests that would sometimes cause Lua errors on objective complete
quest availability logic improvements, now we can more easily correct wrong data. 3 quests have had their requirement data fixed so far, but let me know if you find any more incorrect ! points
more logic to compensate for the quest log api bug, but its still not perfect hopefully blizzard fixes (im convinced its actually a bug at this point)
there are still a couple known issues, but they both stem back to the current quest log API bug, it returns incorrect / old data very inconsistently, even with large delays, and checking in between. The server sends quest events far earlier than it updates the data in the quest log API, and that’s been causing a lot of trouble. Waiting a static amount of time makes things a lot better, but it’s not an ideal fix. Sometimes the server takes longer, often times it takes a lot less time. It’s also tough to “keep checking until its updated” because its hard to determine when the data is correct
As a vision impaired gamer, use of unit frames is a must. Use it on live, need something similar for classic/vanilla. The current UI even though can move player and target frame around, would be nice to have a unit frame addon and bars addon like either CTMOD or Bartender. Minimap addon would be very helpful as well.
Alright, simple easy addon idea I just heard watching a streamer. An addon that shows the Resurrection timer during Battlegrounds. So it tracks every respawn so you can plan strategic deaths instead of backing off to drink/eat. I also feel like there is a slight delay between each 30 seconds when the rez happens but I could be wrong. Could require testing to sync up the timing. Call it SmartSpawn or something.
Everyone who uses the addon, when the resurrection time frame launches, send addon message to all players in the group that includes your timestamp/current time (server), time remaining on resurrection ((current+restimer)-current=timestamp of next res). Those with the addon get the sync.
Neat idea, not an addon. Make a discord where it could become easier to share ideas and discuss things with players and other addon creators. I would suggest to make a thread where the #nochangers and the opposite of them can argue their points, or else there will likely be arguments in the channels lmao.
On retail I use a mod called Select for similar reasons. Instead of a wheel it creates a popup menu. You create a normal wow macro like “/select pet:favorite” or “/select professions:all” and then when clicked it shows all your favorite pets, professions…etc. I bet a combination of Opie and Select would do wonders in classic. I vote for them both!
