To fight the Legion. Xe’ra didn’t trust the void, but Turalyon and the Lightforged didn’t have any issue with it at the time.
The lightforged rejoined their people, and the horde started a conflict against their people’s allies, so the Lightforged followed suite.
The lightforged are not a nation unto themselves unlike most allied races. They are the draenei who have a bit more fight, or crazy, in them.
Imagine the U.S. army going “Well, you may have attacked America while we were away, but we’re going to stay neutral because you only hit the Coast Guard.”
This is wrong.
The draenei only ever stopped on a few worlds, most likely uninhabited (lacking world souls as well since Sargeras doesn’t have any other corrupted world souls like Argus) to mine them for resources because they lived on a ship the size of Tempest Keep (Remember the city sized Exodar was a small wing of Tempest Keep for scale)
Velen explicitly hid Draenor from the Legion with magic, and that worked for thousands of years until the Legion found them on accident. Until then Kil’jaeden was just guessing that he didn’t kill them all.
All your speculation that they left other races to die is just that, speculation. Everything shown about the draenei says they’d do the opposite, including not leaving the Broken behind or going out of their way to save the blood elves (who were killing them AND the reason they crashed on Azeroth in the first place)
The orcs did the slaughter before they were corrupted, and then got the demon blood afterwards as a reward.
And it’s not just the slaughter, but the “fond rememberance” part that makes it bad. The “Ah man, remember the good ole days, when we killed the draenei? Good times.”
It’s literally still on the ship, on display, in the Lightforged starting instance, and the guard talks about it fondly. This is a fact that can’t be argued.
Well this has definitely gone interesting directions.
Honestly, my logic was moreso the argument I’ve commonly seen for Nightborne, and even Highmountain to some extent- That both sides helped them, so they shouldn’t have joined either. I remember seeing a LOT of that for both of those, but never for Lightforged.
I remember MUCH more “discussion” about the Void Elves and how the Alliance were getting yet MOAR elf options. /flipstable
No one seemed to care about the Lightforged.
I remember debates over how the Nightborne came to ally with the Horde, and how it was a slap in the face “after all we did for them in Suramar …”
Then the Vulpera were unveiled pre-BfA, and the whole debate morphed into who was going to get the cute li’l foxes and whether we’d have playable snakes to match them.
The story was just dumb. Tyrande asked a legitimate question “How do we know you will not become the next Elisande?” So Thaly gets upset and joins the Horde.
Put it this way. Imagine your cousins (who are screwups) you haven’t seen in forever ask you for the biggest favor they could ever ask for. You decide against better judgement to help them and the next day after you help them, their friends burn your house down.
The same can be said for the Lightforged.
“Oh thanks for helping us to beat our sworn enemy…now die!”
Also Void Elves rep makes no sense.
Nah. The complaint was probably Lightforged stuff should’ve just been customisation for regular Draenei instead of a new race with even less choice in classes.
Nightborne salt would’ve come from the fact they were this faction with a great story we all played through, but they end up going Horde and it’s justifed with some lame offhand remark from Tyrande about “how can we trust you guys”.
Could’ve been executed better.
Based. Hordecels sook over anything and everything.
Lots of legion gave a strong basis to “you now, we could panda these races and let players pick”.
HM and NB dead ringers. HM even more of ringer than NB. Their horde join was based on a dinner party gone bad. Tyrande hurt no ones feelings there lol.
Alliance could have gone hey buddies…heard the void crashed your party. We got 1 champion on standby right now. We can make the void become null and void. JSut give the word and it is done…
they tried so hard that they still did nothing to help when they finally started to show signs of corruptions and then blame the orcs for their “the draeneis” mistakes
By the time corruption was showing, project “Path of Glory” was already underway.
So they sacrificed everybody in Karabor rather than slaughter the orcs back. Would you prefer they Yrel’ed the orcs?
It’s no-one’s fault draenor got found
It’s Gul’dan’s fault the orcs got contacted by the Legion
It’s slightly the orcs fault they accepted the offer and slaughtered the draenei. (WoD shows they could of said no but apparently Gul’dan’s a good salesman)
It’s absolutely the modern orcs fault that they look at the Path of Glory as “The good ole says” and Sauefang said as much when he was yelling at Anduin about how meaningless honor was
If I remenber well its said somewhere that draenor was a very isolated world who wouldnt have been found easily and was only found easily because the draeneis
I will admit that the other orcs threating gul’dan like poop didnt help
fair enough
I think its said that gul’dan said to them that the draeneis were responsable for the red pox + they were also welp now corrupted and made mad by the fel blood , they didnt do it just for the pleasure of it
I don’t recall him saying that “modern orcs” see it that way and are proud of it just that the path is anything but glorious
