Were are the strong, male leads in Warcraft?

Because Blizzard are too scared to bring back Kiro the most Masculine and Handsome Male in WoW back because he’d distract everyone from the story because they’d be too busy staring at his pecs. :dracthyr_a1:

The OP mentioned:

The guy just wants someone to relate to in game and he makes some great points, every character type he enjoyed has gotten either soft or has died. The lack of this architype makes sense from an “adventure/exploration” expansion and there’s no need for this character currently. But don’t spin this as “Toxic Masculinity” as the reason people want some damn strong beefy characters to watch slay some dragons without weapons. That’s on you to interpret your insecurities from this harmless post and there were also badass male and female characters in the “glory days”. Keep in mind, as a body type 2 myself, even I find myself looking for some badass male characters, as currently it is lacking.

Please don’t go activist mode for posts that do not require activist mode. He is harmless father who wants to escape real life for a bit and see epic characters slay epic creatures.

Exactly! I was just telling people I can only enjoy characters who are strong, aggressive men who know how to put their family in their place. For too long we’ve been forced to sit through weak baby men who use their words and have emotions. A real leader shoots first and talks never! Real men are wolves among the sheep.

You were supposed to wait to Sunday to make this thread OP, but don’t worry I will make sure it continues this Sunday, for sure!!

That would normally my cue for a discrete exit from the thread and to stop listening, but I can’t help but continue to watch…

Disenchanted himself

Decided to be Jesus

Destroyed by fel energy, it’s unknown whether the two ghosts that comforted Anduin were Saurfang or his dad, unfortunately it’s more likely there were echoes.

Looking after an unruly inmate in a prison. He’s best qualified for this, as he was a prisoner himself for 10, 000 years.

Who?

Last I heard, that tree-hugger is doing another long-distance relationship with Tyrande, as he sleeps away in the Shadowlands doing nothing, which by the way, he already did for 10, 000 years prior in the Emerald Dream while Tyrande was out in the world fighting. He’s always been a lazy bugger that likes to sleep a lot.

Dead.

Looking after his daughter I’m assuming.

Gone forever, disappeared in a fart cloud.

Currently looking after souls in the Shadowlands, though the Winter Queen doesn’t like him very much. Personally, I would have sooner ended up in the other realms than bound to that fool, but at least those that sides with him didn’t end up in the Hell.

You see, there’s a slight problem with being mortal and having a biological clock, you eventually get old and die, so you mentioned younger men, and there comes a time in every lifetime, where the torch has to be passed to the younger generation, because those middle aged men that are still alive are now OLD men, so it’s time for them to enjoy their retirement.

I have been considering engaging in a twisted plot to turn the Forsaken into vampires…so you can stay young…forever. In fact…you’ve just given me an idea for a new thread…

People definitely cared about the game more when it was just about big hairy sweaty men grunting and fighting

Not quite, it was after Illidan left

Define masculine.
If you want strong male then Ebyssian fits, Baine is getting there and there’s also Genn. Mathias Shaw is still there, as is Gazlowe and Rokhan. As for Turalyon …well, the jury’s still out on whether he’s going to be a servant-of-the-light bad guy or not.

Blizz killed them off,and replaced them .

Everywhere around Stormwind! I still remember with the model update, they said they wanted human guys to look like people who’d be able to fight against orcs, and so they turned all the guys into shaved gorillas.

I’d love to know wtf happened to that sword… I wonder how and when he’ll reappear.

Sidebar: I showed one of my nieces (who doesn’t play) Denathrius’ ‘Afterlives’ video, and she said ‘If he gets me, he can keep me’ xD

This game is made by a company of serial abusing drunks who harass the few sober people trying to do their jobs, and fire people who make fun of corporate greed.

Of course they’re not going to be good at writing strong male characters. There aren’t exactly strong men running this company.

I would love some more badass dudes, don’t get me wrong. But these people write what they know.

Depends on where one is standing at the time.

No wizard, no matter how grand is going survive a headlong charge against someone like Angron.

I can’t be the only one who has noticed they’ve gone a bit overboard with the whole ‘girl boss’ female representation in leadership stance. Just look at every faction introduced in this expansion:

Dragonscale expedition: Toddy Whiskers
Centaur: Khanam Matra Sarest
Tuskarr: Chief Brenna
Valdrakkan Accord: Alexstrasza
Djardin: Warlord Sargha
Niffen: Aurantia
Primalist cultists: Koroleth
Drakthyr: Emberthal
Gnolls: Decatriarch Wratheye

All female. The only exception I could find was the Incarnates, who are led by Iridikron. It does seem a bit skewed, but maybe that’s what they’re going for?

where are they? dead, or kowtowing to female characters.

even thrall, who was the horde’s orc-dad and green-jesus, was now put on the backburner so his wife who has had no real significant role in the game other than being his wife, could shine in the spotlight.

it’s sad.

Uhh, this is the post 2016 world, we are all fully aware that women are the real victims in all war, even warcraft. It’s their sons/brothers/father’s/husband’s out their being hacked to death in melee combat, or burned alive by locks, dragons, and mages.

As a real life god of death, I also find him relatable.

Thrall has been weak and pathetic with no backbone for a long time.

Idk why “male leader” must be a warmongering idiot, or else a complete soyboy pushover. Neither is useful.

Who is Kiro?

I’m genuinely confused…

I do wish that there were some cool male role models, though.

why a warmongering idiot? cause it’s entertaining. garrosh was the best warchief, his warmongering really made you feel pumped-up for a fight!
his anger got your blood a-pumping! whether as a soldier of the horde fighting for your people’s right to a future, or as a hero of the alliance defending your homes, garrosh’s blood-and-thunder approach was inspiring…

aside from that, the title of the game is world of warcraft, not world of hero-craft.

…i can’t remember my point, all i know is i miss garrosh’s passion for battle…

I get where you’re coming from with this, but it’s a fantasy realm.
Those entities will exist regardless of how sensitive we may be to them in reality.
Pretty sure you can have a strong male lead whose in fit shape, without it being toxic as well.

See my other post about sarcasm.
