Were are the strong, male leads in Warcraft?

First: If you are here to attack or degrade others, regardless of their social group, this post is not about that or for you.

Okay, with that said, as a Father and longtime (vanilla) warcraft player, why has there been no masculine male figures lately? Were are the Garrosh, Pre-cata Trall, Varyn, Illidan, Books Malfurian, Cain, Bolvar Pre-SL, Arthas, ect? In the past 3 expansion, the only characters I relate to anymore were ol Bwonsamdi, and Sir D. Both of whom Blizzard were surprised were so popular with their predominantly male audience…

Now we have Kadgar and Nozdormu back (who are more like a grandpa), Kelegos the Emmo, Wrathion the arrogant teen, Anduin the man child. I relate more to the newly introduced earth villain that we know almost nothing about, and Sebellion who obv is not going to be earth warder and hasnt been around since BC, than any character this expansion.

Blizz has added/expanded some amazing Female, younger men, others lately but there has been no middle age strong male figures to relate or look up to which was the entire draw I had to the game growing up.

I was told by an old friend: they thought wow was going to return to the glory days in WoD, until they saw that Kargath Bladefist was suppose to run away as the first raid boss in Beta (changed to just die right away), one of the most BA warlords, they stopped even thinking of the game after that point.

Ebyssan is totally a dad, even if he doesn’t have kids yet.

Ebyssian to me is a strong male leader. He keeps a level head and is in a position of power more than ever.

I mean. They’re in the story. They may not have the spotlight or take center stage-- but few characters other than jaina/anduin do.

So: Khadgar. Lor’themar. Kiro. Turalyon. Ebyssian. Velen. Even Malfurian.

Agreed but he feels forced and more of a passifict. Which has it’s place in the story.

That’s what got him the position of aspect of the black dragon flight. To me, it didn’t feel forced.

EXACTLY!!! Where are my testosterone fueled men with chiseled features, bulging chests and tree trunk thighs that know what they want and how to get it?!

I for one appreciate Wrathion because he’s not yet another soft-spoken dad character. Let him be a sensual disaster, please.

They are at the gym finishing their workouts before heading to the esthetician for more waxing and then to the juice store for their daily veggie kombucha protein smoothie.

Wrathion is great for his character 100%.

Strength comes from other things other than just being a doorknob

Ebyssian has a very prominent part in the current patch. He’s definitely a mature male type of character (I’d say even “dad”).

I haven’t finished the Blue Dragonflight storyline, but I suspect Kalecgos has a part in it. While he looks emo, I don’t think his character is portrayed as an edgy teenager in this expansion.

There’s also Nozdormu, who’s a very important part of the current expansion and seems to be heading to be even more prominent in the near future.

While Wrathion and Sabellian felt a little cartoonish at times, they’re also very definitely male characters, not only in the appearance, but in their personal growth themes as well.

Wrathion, Khadgar, Ebonhorn, Uther, Denathrius, Renathal, Mograine, Bwonsamdi, etc.

Pointing out that these characters have flaws doesn’t make them not “strong male leads”…

They all died or got married.
