I can agree to disagree with you on most of what you said, which is the struggle Blizzard has when it comes to figure out what makes the game as fun as possible to as many people as possible. We have diametrically opposed views on what makes the game fun.
I don’t find flight paths as “compelling game play”. I check out. I alt-tab and what videos or go to the bathroom, etc, etc. I literally never sit there and watch my screen in awe as I fly over Azeroth’s terrain for the 10,000th time.
I don’t log into WoW to play a travel simulator, which is why traveling is one of the worst aspects of the game to me.
Regarding Classic WoW note, I didn’t say they aren’t classic, so I’m not sure why you brought that up. I said they aren’t “Era”, which is what the person I responded to was saying, but they agreed, there’s a distinction between Era and Anniversary.

Do you people even play the game? Why do you act like you login and hold hands with other carebears and frolic around the world together?
“Meet at the dungeon” is what happens.

We’re going to get them eventually as the server is progressing to TBC, we may as well get them now because they were added since meeting stones were an abject failure. What little use they may ever have had was entirely circumvented by the LFG Tool existing.

Blizzard should also mute accounts of people who kvetch about a seasonal server they don’t play. Why should those people be permitted to discourage other players from participating in something with their constant pooh-poohing?

I can appreciate that. For me personally, I enjoy the Classic Era gameplay (i.e. combat, raids, dungeons) and how loot works, but I also enjoy many of the QoL features Blizzard has introduced over the years. So my favorite game would be a hybrid of the two. Currently that doesn’t exist, though adding some newer QoL to the Classic servers is probably the best current fit for me.
Are you suggesting we get rid of flight paths now and replace them with instant teleporters?

I’ll have to figure out how to work harder at putting more effort into playing the game! 
They would ban half their playerbase.
I’m not suggesting Blizzard do this, too many people would be too outraged, but I am suggesting I would be a happy camper if they did.
Anything Blizzard can put into the game that allows me to get my character to where I need to go faster to start playing the game makes me happier.
Because that is the whole purpose of WoW and other MMOs. The driving force should be to experience the world with other players. It’s not just a mindless rush for loot, or a hack and slash game.
But what you consider fun is not in line of what vanilla is.
So it is obvious that you have no appreciation over the world, or have a love for the world like I do along with others like myself. To me World of Warcraft is a world first, game second but with you its just a game. I can tolerate that, but when you make demands to blizzard to add changes that take the life out of the world I love then that is where I have a problem.
This is why I am telling you that classic (including Season of Discovery and anniversary servers) are not for you. Traveling is a huge part of World of Warcraft especially classic. If you don’t like traveling, play a diablo game with waypoints.
That doesn’t mean they should just make compromising changes that will kill the spirit o vanilla. They are still represent a version of vanilla, and must keep the spirit of vanilla alive.

Summoning stones is a very dangerous direction to steer this game and would undermine the entire ideology of these 20th anniversary servers.
Gotta get that instant dopamine right? Instant dungeon queues, instant epics, instant teleportation anywhere you want in the map. Instant leveling, instant talents, instant abilities. Grinding mobs? Nah I don’t want to do that just give it to me instantly.
Some of us play vanilla WoW because we like delayed gratification and systems that reward effort.
I appreciate you trying to be helpful, but you just come across as condescending telling me what games I would find fun. I’m not a child or an idiot, so this is not productive.
No, I said I like the current combat system and loot system in Classic. So not sure why you are making this argument other than you are just wanting to fight me.
I just want to get to where I can play the game faster.
If I log in and have to travel 20 minutes to get to where I can play the game, I view that as wasted game time. If I have to sit at a dungeon entrance and wait 60 minutes for the group to form and every one to travel there, I view that as wasted game time. Others have noted I should just stop playing WoW because I don’t like wasting my time like this. That’s definitely an option and it’s one I take periodically when the game because less fun for me.
