Welp, They Added an Hour

For most software services businesses anything that occurs outside of the standard schedule that has a user impact is an ‘emergency’. It is terminology with a specific meaning. It is not the colloquial use of the word.

not about cash, it’s about time wasted…and pretty sure you know that…

Maybe they’re just trying to teach us patience. If so, they’re doing a great job and a bad job at the same time…

should be right above the big splash page, under the WoW tab. white background, with a yellow caution triangle next to it. however that message has been very spotty for people lately

I guess the servers are just taking a little coffee break…Again.

Yeah, but it’s a nice day outside…go breathe the fresh air and relax…lol

Stuff happens and needs to be fixed is the literal definition of an emergency!!! Holy cow people. When something unintended happens and it needs to be fixed that is an EMERGENCY!!

It’s so wild that people literally can’t tell what an emergency is compared to scheduled. I’m losing faith in humanity.

?

It literally says scheduled maintenance on the launcher…

I’ve been outside. Today. It’s overrated, trust me.

That is another error on their part mislabeling the maintenance. Sorry everyone I’m not being gaslighted. Try someone else.

Yeah, well our definitions differ…that comes from working in a hospital for most of the last 45 years…this, to me, does not constitute an emergency…is it urgent, possibly, but it is definitely NOT an emergency

Oh, I see, there’s something wrong with you that apparently prevents you from understanding. I hope you’re able to overcome that, seems pretty detrimental.

Maybe the real World of Warcraft was the maintenance we experienced along the way?!?

I’ll extend an olive branch. If you want to call this urgent maintenance that is also fine but in no way shape or form, is it scheduled. Saying that today’s maintenance is scheduled is factually wrong. That isn’t how that works.

If i call my say… dentist and schedule an appointment for tomorrow… that’s not a scheduled appointment?

Just imagine if WoW still had devs that cared enough about the game to actually play it. Most of the down times we’ve had (even going back throughout Remix) have been to fix issues that would never have made it to live if the devs were actual players. Just look at the announcement for this change - they talk about “seeing data”, and “hearing feedback”, but never mention that they noticed it while playing the game. I’m fairly certain that devs who don’t like the game they’re working on enough to play it simply can’t do a good job.

I’ve never seen such obsession with how maintenance is labeled, when the result is the same. Servers are down.

ok boot licker

$20 bucks says they’ll add another hour soon. I’m giving 2:1 odds, any takers?

I always love the forums during maintenance, scheduled or otherwise. Popcorn, anyone?
