Ugh! Well, as bad as it is, it still aint as bad as those 2-3 day shutdowns and constant crashes in Vanilla…back in the day. I just wish we could play Classic for free in the mean time. Not the expansions, but the Vanilla part. It feels like that would make it more fair.

Somebody dropped the ball it would seem and removed it after midnight last night. That or it was a bug.
I didn’t have the notice on my launcher until the servers went down.
I hear ya, was hoping for about 1.5 hours of play time before I go to work, thats not going to happen.

I don’t get why forum posters love to say stuff like this. I hope you realize that was 20 years ago. Should everyone feel better that things aren’t the same way they used to be 20 years ago?

Blizzard doesn’t want to pay overtime and doesn’t spend much on server infrastructure. Their server hardware is actually some of the worst in the industry for the size of the game they’re running.
If they were less focused on meeting profit margins and expected growth to please a board of directors and more interested in, say, the game itself, we’d never have issues like this.
