I will say, that as an Adamantoise Server player I did have a “Oh no… nononononononononono!” moment when he tried that one first, THANK GOD it was overfilled with WoW refugees and he had to pick another one.
The lawyer didnt listen to his feedback and he left. Many others have left as well.
Its time for a change in devs and the top guy.
no but Squeenix have been using streamers to shill their game for a while as they found out that they could. Some WoW streamers are upset that Acti-Blizz is no longer pandering them anymore.
as for sub numbers, a lot or new players with free time. As Blizzard did in WoD, Big Numbers =/= Game health. FF14 may have massive numbers, but we’ll see how long that’ll last with New Worldd and Ashes of Creation.
lastly, as someone mentioned “Asmon’s only as powerful as you put him.” His stans think he’s untouchable because Draconian Mods/Admins defend him from “ebil Stream snipers” on FF14.
His stans may worship him, but he’s a false god in the eyes of people
You just made another Asmongold post… your worshipping him right now without even knowing it.
It’s like the ghosts in Mario, their only a threat until you look away.
ah yes the “you’re worshipping him by mentioning him” card.
Streamers and influencers can be leveraged as advertising for or against you. At worst, this might be a cautionary tale about not being pointlessly antagonistic towards them.
if that’s the case maybe it’s time they know their place then? All it’s showing is that they’re a liability that will turn on you if they’re not pandered.
streamers used to be people enjoying games and showing stuff, not to be mouthpieces that will turn on you the second they don’t get their palms greased (something folks are ignoring with FF14’s sudden care for streamers.)
Not sure how did anyone come to that conclusion
Dead means zero players
Second- nobody know how many players are there everyone is guessing
Third - Asmon never left
Again, it’s free advertising for or against you. You can be mad at the streamers or influencers all you want, but it won’t change the relationship dynamic between them and game companies. Openly and publicly insulting your most popular streamer is advertising suicide (although, amusingly, they aren’t even quitting WoW or directing others to do so in this case).
If your company is willing to shell out millions on advertising but can’t be bothered to just amicably interact with an influencer, your company needs to consider restructuring their marketing team.
