Some of the best gear doesn’t even drop from the final few bosses in the BOD. Basically, everyone is already 390-400 ilv by now with the vast majority not even understanding simple mechanics well enough to complete LFR without dying or being able to pull above 7k dps.
Yeah they are from mythic +, we heard it
I am not following how alternative sources for gear has ruined the game?
if its any consolation…some of us welfare recipients don’t do mythic or raid.
You have an issue with the symptom to the actual problem.
Ilevel scaling.
They kill this. we casual non mythic/raider types won’t need welfare 400 gear. Ilevel is why we need it. At 378 avg on chars like this I can do open world content not feeling like I want to eat a bullet.
I have a 116 S.Priest for frame of reference. In the grips of ilevel scale monster’s fanged jaws. I hate logging into her. I hate running her. Its not her…its BFA. And the ilevel scaling.
I liked her all the way up to and including legion. I know it will get better. When one day she too is 370+ level. All that happens long after 120 level ding…sigh
It’s not the alternative sources. It’s the showering of gear that players get that makes getting gear pretty meaningless. It used to be a journey to gear up a character.
Nowadays, you hit max level and get showered with epics, I believe that’s the problem.
I can agree that there is an deluge of gear at 120, but they counter it by making the vast majority useless or redundant.
I personally would rather the Justice points or some similar token system.
That’d be a good system, like in MoP. However, blizz thinks their player base is too stupid to use vendors.
armor inflation brah
You are probably right. Did they ever explain why they got rid of that system? It made sense and allowed us to plan better.
That sounds more like a player competence issue than a gear issue.
I also think that your ‘vast majority’ is a flawed statement that you cannot prove in any way.
no, they want us slaves to the RNG gods. Same reason crafting took a dump this expac for the armour making professions.
This is what was so nice about BC/Wrath IMO: You’d level to max, get flying, and THEN it was time to start chipping away at gear and the max level dungeons. It was such a sense of accomplishment when you hit that level. It was clear progression.
There is nothing like that now. In their laziness, they scaled everything out. Every dungeon has been completed once, twice, or many times before max. There are no easy zones or max level zones. There’s no achievement moment when you mount up and zip up into the air.
And to add insult to injury, you gear up so quickly once you hit max level, that you’re almost angry when stuff doesn’t TF and you get the same old 370 from an emmisary chest.
This is all Blizzard’s own fault.
I am only 379 and haven’t done 1 boss yet in LFR. Am I wearing welfare gear?
The fact is, over the course of a couple of weeks while the Alliance was given free 400ilvl Heroic Raid gear for doing nothing kinda is disgusting to see. They should’ve done something to earnz it, not get given welfare payments and still do nothing.
That is not IL scaling. Sell all your items. Restore them after. At next to no IL the mobs have very little difference in health. That is entirely LEVEL scaling.
Looks like you haven’t done any Warfronts, weekly quest, Chest, Darkshore World Boss or any of your daily emissary quests… you can even get 390+ from doing Mythic 0’s …Plenty of welfare to go around .
Good! Gear grinding and gear elitism has always been the death of this game. I say, give it all away and let skills decide.
They straight up said the reason they got rid of PvP vendors at least is people would make the wrong choice and “waste” their CP. Blizz literally thinks players are too stupid to spend 30 seconds looking up a guide on what to buy first (spoilers it was usually weapon).
You know what kills a game? Having an under skilled player get into content they are not ready for simply because they think they are some hot shot running around in 390+ gear now. That’s what really ruins group activities.
Not really. Being showered in high IL gear off the bat makes people think, “well I don’t get anything from W so I should skip straight to Z.” This game is awful at teaching you how to play without experience so when players skip the experience part because they do not get a TANGIBLE reward from it then it leads to players being in way over their heads.
This is also in tandem with the fact that any “easy” content is fail proof. You have to go out of your way to wipe to anything before, what is now, 385 content. So a +5 or N BoD.
Ever seen welfare tanks think they can tank a M+7> or the first boss on Heroic BOD?
