I think this is the main reason a lot of people dislike this. When you know that these are the best comps and easiest to play to max out damage, there’s definitely no team which would punch themselves in the face by playing “interesting” stuff if they want to win.

Most WoW MVPs have gone radio silent so at this point it doesn’t matter.

To be honest, the concept of MVPs on a non Q&A forum is baffling. There’s no point.
I don’t know maybe they earned that title by helping people in other forums here. Or they’re just ehh…“Knighted” by Blizzard for no reason other than “Look at them they are shiny”.

It wouldn’t be like this if the reasoning for implementing an AE cap in the first place was actually brought to life. If some classes actually were “3 target cleave specialists” who topped the meters in say Sanguine Depths, and some classes were “5 target cleave specialists” who topped meters in say Mists, and some classes were “uncapped AE specialists” who topped meters in say Necrotic Wake, then you wouldn’t have this problem. But Blizzard didn’t get that balance right, and instead we have some classes who have good AE in all types of AE situations and also sometimes have insane single target burst too.
It’s just bad balancing. Nothing to do with esports, MDI, AE cap, anything. Just plain and simple bad tuning. Some classes “have it all” while also bringing special utilities that make them locked in even if they weren’t utterly crushing it on the meters.
Green text = Blizzard shill. Simple enough.

Yeah and this is also why people dislike watching these events. Very few people are even interested to watch 100 teams battle it with the same comps.
There’s no interesting thing to watch other than paint drying. Probably why people are pissed off more than “Oh boy! Let me go and get ready!”
