Anyway blizzard the same problem underlying the MDI is going to happen here. 1 comp exclusively will rule the roost and enshrine those classes as THE ONE AND ONLY VIABLE COMP. 1 this is lame and has a degenerate impact on pugging. and 2 this is lame because most people won’t get to see their class/spec represented. There’s not a snowball’s chance in hell there’s going to be a single blood dk or survival hunter for example. This is lame and makes me not care to tune in.

Sounds fun to participate in but could careless to watch it.
I mean, I guess there are players who enjoy this but I would rather you focus that prize pool into improving the game instead of a tournament

Sometimes they will sub rouge/moonkin for Shadow priest.
This is getting to be too much. Thinking a $20k prize pool is going to make a difference.

Because those specs suck right now. They’re not even just “not meta”, they’re pretty noticeably worse in certain respects than other specs in the given role. It’s like whining that people don’t play enough Donkey Kong or Ganon in Smash Brothers Melee. Getting sick of Fox/Final Destination is one thing, but expecting competitors to scrape the literal bottom of the barrel just to appease die-hards of very specific characters? Wut?

Literally no one asked for another esports event Blizzard. You keep ignoring your playerbase like this and it’s going to kill your game. Everything you’ve done to try and push WoW into the esports limelight has slowly ruined and killed the game.
Stop focusing on this stupid esports thing and instead focus on improving the game.

And for many, something like this is attractive. I and more than a few people I play with plan on watching it.
It’s OK not to like or want to participate in every thing they do. That doesn’t make it worthless.

Isn’t this likely giving a lot of these event employees that have nothing to do actual work to do? I thought Blizz just laid off a bunch of them and people were outraged. They probably had what little event staff they have left work out the details for this tournament to give them a job to do.
