Just a note because the video features the Amish Paradise single art label: although I agree that Amish Paradise is amazing and great, this video I linked to is of the unique, extra-gory version of The Night Santa Went Crazy from the Amish Paradise single not to Amish Paradise itself. The Night Santa Went Crazy is my favorite Weird Al song, and I prefer the single release over the tamer version on Bad Hair Day (which remains my favorite Al album).

He doesn’t need to ask for permission to turn a song into a parody because parody is allowed under Copywrite laws. But he still does out of respect and if an artist says no, he doesn’t make the parody.
