How am I supposed to upgrade my gear? Does the cap incerease each week?

Increases each week. It’s never been an issue over a season. It’s been an issue for people who grind, the first few weeks.

The cap automatically increases each week for all tiers. It’s just so there isn’t an incentive to unhealthily grind for them.

The cap is not removed entirely until the second half of the season. In S2, it was part of Turboboost. It’s part of nerfing content by allowing more gear upgrading at that time.
Where did u find 90? where are they?
Delves can easily cap them

the source of weathered crests is low level delves?
Weather Crests (lowest tier) drop from WQ’s, low level delves (1-4), heroic dungeons and LFR. They can upgrade gear up to 678ilvl maxxing out Explorer track gear.
Carved Crests (second tier) drop from mid-tier delves (4-7), Mythic 0 dungeons and the raid on Normal difficulty. They can upgrade gear to 691 maxxing out Adventurer track gear.
Runed Crests (third tier) drop from mid-high tier delves (6-11), M+ dungeons up until +6’s and Heroic Raids. They can upgrade gear to 704 maxing out Champion track gear.
Gilded Crests (fourth tier) are the highest level of crests. You can get them from high tier delves (Bountiful 11s), Mythic+ dungeons at a +7 level or higher, or Mythic Raid. They max out Hero track gear at 710 ilvl, or Myth Track gear at 723 ilvl.
You can only get Weathered and Carved Crests this week. Next week you will be able to get Runed and Gilded Quests… Each week the total cap of all levels of crests will increase by 90. (Week 1 is 90, week 2 is 180, week 3 is 270 and so on).

The reason for all these timegates is to prolong their user base. Have to wait weeks to get what you want, so you have to pay more (if you are not using tokens).
Delver here, i dont do mythics, but no runics are dropping, only carved. so i have to wait for that to start, which is complete crap. If i have 8 hours to play, then i want to progress those 8 hours. BF6 is coming out, they’ll get my business and WoW will go on a back burner and they wont get my money, pretty simple

Its just the old nerf over time mechanic. Annoying but just remember only heroic and mythic crests matter till uncap
Season hasn’t started yet. So of course as a Delver we need to wait for our season to begin to get said Crests.

It takes far less than 8 hours to run 8 delves. Play both if you actually enjoy wow.

Everyone’s gotta wait. Runed and gilded crests aren’t dropping anywhere yet. Funnily enough, if runed crests were dropping, delves would currently be the only place to get them because M+ and the raid aren’t available yet (M0 doesn’t drop runed crests either).

Doesn’t Hero track go up to 8/8?
No, hero and myth only go up to 6/6. The extra 2 upgrades were a special thing for s2’s turbo boost.
Was this confirmed by blues that its going back to 6/6?
I mean, you can confirm it for yourself by looking at loot in the (raid) dungeon journal. Hero and myth track items only go up to 6/6. It’s also been like that for every tier/season aside from last season during the turbo boost, when it was changed as part of that event.
They also don’t want players outgearing the raid before the raid is open.
Go play BF6 and stop whining.

They could open the raid, but then they would potentially have a week one with massive bugs and balance issues due to their lack of QA and rushed development process, so we all get gated to give Blizzard time to fix any major bugs in production and still be able to promote their race for mythic first.
