Why tf would you give boosts but not also boost up weapon skills? used my 58 boost on my lvl 14 paladin welp its 2h mace skill is still 42 trying to attack lvl 58 mobs, brilliant
Weird, doesn’t the client say the boost gives weapon skills? Or is that just my exhaustion-addled brain misremembering?
Either way that sounds like just a minor inconvenience to me to just go to a mid-level mob and auto attack it for a couple minutes
update it does boost weapon skills… but only the ones you start with! so the 2h mace they give you with the boost is useless as its not a 2h sword.
Ah, that seems more sensible to me
Just play the game.
You wanted all the weapon skill maxed ? Even some Classic players don’t have it.
Then why give a 2h mace if theyre gonna boost sword skill? just seems silly.
So it boosts the weapon skills you have learned? So…take 5 minutes and run around to at least train each weapon skill to 1/whatever. And it’ll boost those I assume?
Nope i had 2h maces learned as well, that 1h maces, unarmed (makes sense), defense, axes, and 2h axes did not boost even though they were all learned.
Well that sucks, and…I’d say the boost faq is misleading.
But I’m not surprised. Being in the beta it was clear the system wasn’t working right. A lot of TBC isn’t.
Because from the sound of things the boost equips you with a sword by default and the mace requires a conscious decision to switch to
I got deluxe but no riding skill… I boosted my character from level 6 to level 58 human warrior… the deluxe mentions that it includes what the dark pass has which includes the riding skill… but when I logged into the game it just gave me some gold, gear, and a mount. Then I received a plain letter from a Randal Hunter NPC who trains you to learn to ride, it stated that they’d charge me 35gold to learn the skill… the package says I should get that with it… not sure what happened…
Riding is bugged, some people have it some don’t. Hopefully Blizz fixes this relatively quickly
The boost gives these items: a 1h sword, 2 shields, a 1h mace, and a 2h mace. Two out of 3 weapons you have zero skill for 1 being the only two hander given.
You sure you weren’t in prot spec when you boosted or something?
… There is no “specific spec” you are given exactly 1 1h sword with a str shield, a 2h ret mace, and a 1h mace (with intellect) and a shield with intellect intended to heal. The weapon “cache” is given to you from the very first quest you turn in after boosting you dont even open talents prior to it.
You dont even “choose” a spec in tbc you can dump 20 points into each tree if you wanted to be completely useless.
Look man, I’m tired from waiting for maintenance and just trying to think of why it might have happened like this, you don’t have to be snippy. It’s really not that big a deal, just go slap a level 35+ mob for 5 minutes and you’re good
wait the skill should have been 58 … scam lol
