Weapon enchantment illusions on bows / crossbows and guns

Can we please make it so transmog weapon enchants can apply to bows / crossbows and guns? I feel like this is long overdue. I find it frustrating that they make new weapon illusions as rewards for pvp content especially but hunters can’t even show them off.

These effects were never made for xbow / guns / bows.

I hardly think they would spend time to do that.

They tested it once, but couldn’t decide where the effects should go, whether on the string, the bow itself or on the limb or the barrel itself. Then when they tried to test it different ways, something kept breaking. I think it was in the game briefly, but it was a bugged mess they couldn’t seem to get to work. Not sure what happened after that.

I don’t think that’s a really great answer, I think it is something they could make work. It’s just been forgotten about.
Just because I play MM/BM doesn’t mean I should be penalized and not able to show off weapon enchants that I’ve earned.

Maybe they could, but gotta remember it is just for one class, though.

You have earned enchants for melee weapons.

your argument doesn’t make a lot of sense though.
The illusion is for a weapon. It does not state melee weapons.
Because I choose to main a hunter I’m penalized and don’t get the option to show off what I’ve earned.
I know you don’t really care because of the classes you play but that doesn’t make my argument wrong.
They should fix this soon considering it seems like most of them do work there is a couple that don’t.
It’s simply been forgotten about and that is the only reason it hasn’t been worked on since they tried the first time

Yes, it does.
You can only apply the enchant visuals to the same type of weapons that initially it could be enchanted.

Yes – the weapon that originally could be enchanted with that illusion.

You’re not Penalized.
Because you’re not LOSING anything.
Historically the only “enchants” added to Ranged weapons were scopes and so and they never modified the visual of those weapons.

Therefore, the only thing that doesn’t make sense is for you to argue that you’re being “penalized” or that what I’ve told you “doesn’t make sense”.

It was never forgotten.

As I have already explained to you, illusions of enchants only work in the weapons it could be enchanted before: melee weapons.

Ranged weapons never had such enchants.

That is how it works. And it makes a lot of sense – unless, of course, you’re new player starting today.

But they have been removing restrictions for transmogs recently so this is something that could be lifted and made to work. Idk why you are so against this. You must be real fun at party’s.

And that doesn’t really apply here because all of the new illusions are simply cosmetic and have never been real enchantments

Can I transmog my 2h sword into a bow?
My plate into leather?

Obviously not but you can transmog plate into cosmetic sets that are clearly cloth/leather even though it isn’t stated as so. Your argument is anti fun and doesn’t hold any ground in modern wow. If they made this change it won’t hurt anybody.
Just like a plate wearer running around in a fun cosmetic outfit doesn’t hurt anybody.

There was a gun (the one from Kara) which for whatever reason had the ability to show the MoP PvP enchant. And it did work and it was fine, encompassing most of the barrel (which made it look neat).

They should revisit that and see if they can make it work. It looked neat.

Wait a minute.
You cannot.

“cosmetic” is Cosmetic.
You can’t simply Transmog a full plate set in a leather character, or if I wanted I cannot just transmog Cursed visions of Sargeras in my helm, unless I’m wearing a leather.

Your argument is delusional and doesn’t hold any ground anywhere.

Okay buddy move on this post isn’t for you :joy:

Do yourself a favor and roll a different class.

OMG, What if we enchant the auto shots???

You can mog your 2h sword into a 2h mace or 2h axe, that option was not available when mog first came about but it got added later on, this is the same.

Not really what I’m looking for, while that would be cool I think starting with getting the illusions onto ranged weapons would be a good starting place

Wait… So, what do MM/BM hunters get when they reach 2400 in PvP then? I play Survival so sorry for my ignorance here but usually weapon illusion enchants are granted for reaching that rank. Does that mean they just can’t use it?

Kind of a kick in the nuts if you were a MM or BM hunter main, reaching 2400, being given a sick weapon illusion to use, but “oh actually you can’t put that on your bow, gun, or crossbow.

I get you could use it on other characters, but that’s just wrong lol

Exactly my point I’m trying to get across. It’s not a good feeling when you spend so much time earning something as a certain specialization and you can’t even use it. You just get nothing in return. Sure you can use it on other characters but you want to be able to show it off on the character that earned it using the same specialization you earned it on.
