"We won't merge because you'll lose your names"

Its always so interesting in these threads how people talk about other players like they are just NPCs in the game they want to play, and blizzard needs to force those NPCs to do what THEY specifically want.

Those NPCs should be available for me to run dungeons/arenas/raids while also not getting in the way of their leveling/farming/resources.

Its kinda sad really that they claim to want an MMO while not wanting any of the consequences of dealing with people who have agency. Everything has a cost benefit analysis. I personally dont think its reasonable to demand other individuals pay the cost for your benefits when you have the option to resolve it yourself.

No… your entire point is invalid. We wanted to be on a PvP server. We fought hard to own our realm as one faction. If alliance are farming mobs you also want on a pve server there is nothing you can do about it… on pvp we could eliminate them, and we did. We earned our throne atop the battlefield of Sulfuras. Playing on a PvE server…. Achieves the same thing with zero effort, and no extra benefits. You can’t “win” a faction war on a PvE realm… but we did on Sulfuras. And we want to keep our realm.

We enjoyed the open world pvp bro… the things we hated were extreme grief behavior. Did you ever have 20+ rogues from a single guild on the opposite faction kill you while you were on a loading screen after taking a mage portal? You ever had a 40-man mage multiboxer live on boats and zeppelins where no one could use them from launch through phase 5? You ever had a guild mass report and abuse report system to bann every person on your faction trying to get scarab lord? You ever waited up to three days to be able to find a class trainer in a city that was alive? If you got to use the AH you were leaps ahead of us…. Or the bank…. Point is that we got super pissed off. We didn’t leave. We got fed up and fought back. And we won.

Oh spare us your chest beating you PvE wanna be.

You don’t want Alliance on your server. You want to farm “without issues.” You sought to make your server one faction. You want to brag about running Alliance off, thus achieving your dream of a PvE server. Now you don’t have to PvP anymore if you don’t want to. And THAT is what this all comes down to - you just don’t want to PvP anymore unless it’s BG’s or arena. You said as much.

That’s exactly what a PvE server is, in case you missed it.

So, yes, you wanted to be on a PvE server. You just want the imaginary reputation of a big, bad, PvP guy.

It’s hilarious.

No because I don’t want to be on a PvP server - which I’m not. Difference is, I’m honest about it.

But then they don’t get to pretend they’re a hardcore pvper.

This. This is really what it’s all about right here. Pve folks wanting the PvP cred.

A real PvP-focused player would round up a rowdy bunch of like-minded pipehitters and transfer to the weak side of a high pop. 70:30 server.

Still using the smooth brain ideology I see… let me put it plainly so you can grasp my meaning this time……

  • I wanted to be on a PvP server so I could experience having faction wars and skirmishes.

  • I experienced them and had fun.

  • my faction won.

  • the realm being PvP and turned PvE because of winning a faction war is our trophy. Horde own Sulfuras.

  • merging our realm with another to “balance” the population will only make people mad. Not just my opinion, but nearly every OG horde player I’ve talked to in my realm.

  • same principle compared to this: you win rank 14 in Classic after playing months and months of BGs…. Then you decide you are done with PvP… then all of a sudden people are saying you shouldn’t have that High Warlord title as a trophy anymore because you earned the reward and then decided to retire that aspect of the game after reaching your goal/purpose.

  • I don’t care what your opinions are, my main point was that a VERY large percentage of the TBC Classic population that fought and won their faction war on their realm don’t want things changed. We don’t care about what you elitists think makes someone a true PvP-er. We don’t want Blizzard messing up our permanent victory. We won. And we will retake it all over again if we have to, but it’s pointless. If they merged an alliance dominated realm with ours we will just grief them into leaving or make them stop playing.

This seems silly. The idea that you won some sort of faction warfare just by outlasting the alliance’s patience with the game is nonsensical. You forced your way into a PvE setting, are you satisfied? I wouldn’t be. It’s one thing to win a skirmish but if there is no enemy to fight you’ve lost just as much as they have.

Edit: Changed my last sentence it might of came across more hostile than intended.

Your opinion would hold some weight if anything you just said mattered to anyone. By your logic: take baseball…. you could train hard, work together with a team to become the best team in your country. You get to the point where you are undefeated and eventually all your opponents just quit playing. Then you have two kinds of people… those who would look for more opponents, and those who retire and bask in their achievements.
Regardless of what side you fall on, both outcomes are perfectly fine for the person choosing them. We are on the side where we hold our realm as a trophy… still saying “phase 2 never forget” any time people mention not seeing a single alliance in months. And we laugh about it. We enjoy it. We don’t care what PvP elitists have to say. After all what is the point on playing on a PvP realm when you aren’t trying to win the faction war? Sounds to me like you have some PTSD you need to get over

You talk like we should know you for being hot sh*t. It’s like playing your favorite sport, you win all the awards and now no one else plays. There’s no competition, there’s no more fun to be had. Healthy competition is my picture of fun. Not some lame notion that you’ve retired after hard work. It’s just that some people got bored of you and moved on. You’re the opposite of progress. You might’ve been a PvP boy as some point but now you’ve gotten soft.

You didn’t win anything, you just happened to get lucky and were on one of the realms that alliance xfered off of. Because turns out a lot of “pvpers” are just like you don’t actually want wpvp, you just want to say you’re playing on a pvp server.

I’m fine with keeping Sulf horde dominated. I’m not fine with blizzard forcing the ‘losing’ side to stay there without collecting money from them to leave.

Particularly because (as you failed to mention …) Alliance ‘lost the war’ only after Blizzard allowed horde transfers onto the server. The Skeram horde all transferred in (after running their server into the ground), pushed the balance to 70:30, and then proceeded to use their numerical superiority to toxically camp every instance / raid zone in, and leveling zone to the point where alliance could not play any part of the game anymore.

So if we are being honest, your ‘trophy realm’ is a joke. But hey, you can have it. Enjoy sitting in Shat.

Absolutely not an option after you’ve let thousands of people pay $25 to transfer.

Cool story and I guess you can feel that way.

I mostly agree with Soada and some others though. I also know at least one Sulfuras horde who left because they did not want a 99% horde server. Maybe they will reply too.

Earthfury has gone the same way. Like most PVP servers. 99% horde. We’ve had our griefers like one who was pretty well known who had 20+ ally priests and streamed yelling “Get **** buddy” with he dispelled someone. No, we weren’t as bad off as you.

I enjoyed playing smart to avoid this stuff and other World pvp. I also enjoyed engaging in World PVP especially while farming.

Now that’s gone so I raid log my druid, because for me the world is just boring now. I herb and there’s another horde at my node that herbs for 20 hours a day who I can’t kill. Wow… so fun… There is nothing to bask in.

I do play on the Grobbulus server as well though which has two sides and a more fun for me in the world. I also play SoM which has a massive amount of World PVP. If I did want a PVE server for a more relaxing environment I would admit that though.

Anyway I just wanted to comment. IMO most people, like 80%+, shouldn’t have picked a PVP server in the first place. They just wanted better raiding guilds.

People who think there is PVP cred are the same people who think being the best Magic the gathering player at their Small town Video game/Card store is impressive.

No one cares. At best you will get a “thats nice dear” from grandma as she continues knitting.

That’s a BG.

wow…

Oh, okay. A retired PvPer. aka, a PvEer.

Only true pvpers are the ones xferring to a 99% dominated realm to the 1% faction and ganking newcomer in thrallmar/honorhold!

Actually, I know a few remaining horde on Bene that are great pvpers that enjoy a challenge. There’s a whole group of them that twink in the 69 bracket and wpvp against 70s in daily zones while waiting for BG que pops.

But they can still use the AH, and they can still farm instances for gear. Can’t do that on Sulf as an ally anymore.
