I hope you’re right, but I feel like “delves” are going to be shouted down, or at least greatly reduced in a reward sense by the elitists who like to maintain the gatekeeping abilities Blizzard has ceded to them. “Delves” sound like too much freedom to be easily allowed. I could be wrong. Hope I’m wrong. But I have a sense of deja vu as I consider the possibility.
Was totally fine imo (tuning wise)
Was super easy hence my confusion on the matter
These are also in the totally fine category
See this one I don’t agree with. It wasn’t hard in my opinion but what it did do was punish misspositioning. The dps checks, hps checks amd mitigation checks were all pretty standard.
Yeah, Although I think the endless M+ farming really needs to get toned down a bit when it comes to early season power.
I’m excited for Delves personally and I also enjoy M+.
It’ll be a nice change of pace though and I’m glad I can do it alone.
Visions at first required gear us casuals didn’t have. By “skilled players” read highly geared players. Scaling combined with the sanity timer were an issue at first, and the gear the visions dropped wasn’t enough by themselves. Hopefully delves don’t have the same problem.
No one was doing 5 mask visions on day one.
There may not be an explicit countdown timer like M+ but it sounds like there are other mechanics (candles??) that perform the same function. Visions didn’t have a “timer” either but you had to finih before you ran out of sanity. To many people mechanics like that trigger the sme anxiety an explicit countdown does, and those are the kinds of things that need to be minimized.
They won’t be mage tower difficulty because mage tower didn’t have training wheels.
Let’s not forget Torghast, tons of screaming got very early nerfs there.
Blizzard shouldn’t balance the game around people fear of timers, especially when they are not even real ones.
There has to be a way to fail them, especially when the gear rewards are the same as a +5 or normal raiding.
I’m slightly confused.
Are people wanting Delves 5+ (or whatever the line Blizzard decides its going to be) to have a timer? Or something to that effect?
Like I’m very much not following what this thread is freaking out about lol
This is what I’ll be curious to see. How they can make something be challenging but doable for a mage, but not faceroll easy for a tank. Yeah the mage gets a helper buddy and you’ll prob set him up as a healer, but the tank gets a helper buddy too and won’t need a healer so can just have him do more dps.
Even if they tailor the difficulty to your spec type, there is still a huge solo survivability disparity within the same spec categories.
I like your post!
The quoted part makes me wonder tho about how this will work out in the end.
Let´s assume, Delves truly offer a reward that is meaningful. Meaningful for me is a reward if I can get a high ilvl similar to heroic raiding or low Mythic dungeon content.
I fully agree and respect that Mythic + folks and Mythic raiders should get a higher one, but I disagree that Delves should award items that you can get on each corner, like world quests, heroic dungeons …
If we now say that those Delves must be easy, then the big rewards can not come, as that would be silly, I think you agree with that?
So for me, I do hope that the difficulty will be there, as I want high rewards for doing Delves, else I will just skip them like WQ and Dungeons right now.
Yes, they should not be designed for the 1% as you call them, but I also feel that they should not be designed entirely to people that may already struggle at Heroic dungeons or LFR, if you know what I mean.
cannt wait to try delves follower dungeons have made redoing the dragonflight quests so much more bareable and enjoyable with not having to worry about others while doing the end of zone dungeons i can take my time and explore.
I truly think a lot of people are reading way too much into delves. I’m looking forward to them but reading posts and various threads about them replacing this or that I doubt it.
Unless blizz changes their minds from what was said already between blizzcon and a scant few YouTube interviews from various wow streamers it doesn’t seem they are even thinking of replacing mythics at all with them.
Mythics will be the higher challenge for group content than delves.
Thus mythics will give you better rewards. As I think they should.
I play solo just about all the time so I just like the thought of other content to do for myself without relying on others. It would be nice to get better than quest gear as rewards while doing so.
That’s all my expectations are with delves and I’m fine with that.
You can get up take a walk around the block and come back 20 minutes later and be in the exact same state you were when you left.
I would add another… C) flopped because no gear dropped. And for me, this meant eventually hitting a brick wall and not being able to progress to higher floors. It was not about getting everything in a handful of runs and then ignoring it until, as some would say, being forced to go back.
When mage tower was current. Only one where i couldnt get passed and hit a wall was when i was playing destro lock and realized i coudlnt do that tauren and his worm pet mage tower. I did over 30 attempts until i was forced to give up.
Everyone has their limits and i mean everyone. Most people cant play the dark souls games. I know my limits but im far from calling myself a casual since i love raiding and getting ready to start mythic raiding in the wat within.
I forgot the most important one!
Torghast had a lot of issues but this honestly killed it for everyone.
