It’s so much the same thing that I think you’re straying into troll territory again. Limiting the usefulness of pug content to promote guilds applies to dungeons just as much as raids. Seriously, take a second and think about what you’re saying. I’ll wait
There was no logic, that’s the problem. You are want to explain how you feel when I never asked how you feel in the first place. One’s opinion on the community differences between the two games was completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.
I mean sure? I do feel LFR has hurt raiding some, but not as much as raider IO and Group Finder.
People who use LFR many of them would not raid anyway so it is fine, but the people who use group finder would do the raids/content in guilds. So it is not the same take.
Anyway, we are going in a circle. The point I was making is that I think Armory and Achievements should only be seen by guild makes, and I think the community would be better if players had to be more social to build groups up, and focus more on guilds.
You can take that how you want, it does not matter. If Blizzard does not do that it is fine to me. Unlike certain groups of people. I won’t cry and threaten Blizzard if I don’t get my way. I will keep finding my own fun and go around systems I don’t like. MMOs will always change.
Says you… I think there a lot of people who, if they couldn’t reliably pug keys, just wouldn’t pug keys. You cannot say with authority one way or the other, if that number is greater than the people who would stop raiding if they got rid of LFR. Yet you’re okay with LFR but not the group finder…
I mean maybe? that is a risk that is worth taking.
We all can’t have our way. Basic game design. and I could very well be wrong in the take. I would love to see what happens with addons like raider IO get broken. Just to see.
We just go back to when raiderIO wasn’t around and people still filtered people? You must be new to the game or something lol.
It would not be as easy to do? You must be new also, the fact that it is so easy is the problem, and pugs failed a lot more in the past. Are you new?
Not be easy to do? People have been filtering players since Vanilla. Yeah, you are definitely new to the game lol.
Not in the same way. It is much much easier to do that now than before. You know that.
The only thing that has been made easier is time, that’s it. If someone wants to filter someone else, it’s darn easy to do, it doesn’t matter what addons are available.
Are you suggesting that they’d stop if RaiderIo was broken? like really?
That convenience of doing things faster and easier is a problem when it comes to filtering. It just means that people are not willing to take risks in making groups.
Either way we both have our takes on this. We are not going to change each other minds. Blizzard has been listening to our feedback about changes. Having choice matter was a big thing I’ve been asking for and power tied to said choice and they did it. So i’m hoping one day they will this also. if not no hard feelings.
but the problem is you dont really participate in the content for said power to really make a difference, it appears to be that way with most people that are on board with this system
There is no choice that matters lol. If you are referring to covenants, you are about to be in for one rude awakening.
Covenants only reinforce the meta even further. I can’t wait for this system that is full of noob traps to go live, it’s going to be chaos on the forums.
I would if the community changed and that would get me to be willing to do pugs and take more risks :). I’m just giving feedback on what would get me to start doing it. Like I do in other mmos.
They’ll cave in eventually.
There’s no way this is going to be balanced such to allow people the freedom they’ve come to expect when it comes to function swapping and play style diversification. People won’t stand for it and there’s no reason why anyone should expect them to. The inherent and obvious flaws with this system are clear from the word “jump,” and Blizzard’s refusal to accept and correct this will do them neither credit nor favors.
This is an obviously bad design that’s going to disappoint and enrage and their refusal to accept this reality, making this a hill to die on will only make things worse. When this implodes (again, “when”, not “if”) Blizzard is going to be left with nothing but egg on their faces, and the echoing cries of “we told you so” ringing in their ears.
This is what both history and the obvious make clear.
Unfortunately, history also shows that this will do nothing to stifle the developer’s indulgent egos, so… expect nothing to be learned, and this kind of failure or something similar to spearhead the expansion thereafter as well.
This is the WoW we live in. It’s always been this way.
That is yet again a community problem. And I hope if the community forces the meta like this. Blizzard would go the extra mile with the armory/achievement changes.
Either way the fact Blizzard is doing this in the first place shows the future is bright for what I want out of wow.
That’s the complete opposite of what you want lol. It’s Blizzard that creates the meta, not the players. The players have no control over what Blizzard puts into the game, they only run with it. The meta is going to get even stronger with covenants, the only difference now being that RaiderIO will probably also focus on what covenant people are using lol.
You would probably understand this if you were, you know, more social in the game. Rofl.
“I hope if people don’t want to play with me, that Blizzard takes away their ability to decide whether or not they want to play with me”
Honestly you mention you have a husband which would suggest you’re an adult. That you continue to think this scares me a little…
communities build the metas based on the balance things in the game, the playerbase doesnt put these things into the game blizzard does. Generally the playerbse doesnt want to fail at things so they take what is most optimal and reliable.
Like Vers stacking corrution for pvp.
