8 months later and we still don’t even know why the expansion started beyond that Sylvanas “Second Thoughts” Windrunner was helping him.
Is the story this expansion moving too slow, too fast, or just fast enough for you?

You mean how they left a sword in the planet, a world soul still stabbed and other things they never finish?
Blizzard stopped being good at actually finishing their storylines.
Maybe itll be like getting the sword outta azeroth? Ya know? Forgotten?
For all we know, Mega-Zovaal could pick up the sword and become mind controlled by Sargeras.
nah it will all be connected you see. somehow in 20.0 it will be revealed. in a side quest while we’re 1 million realities away from our current.
Pretty sure illidan is having a picnic with sargeras so he’s too busy to MC.
But if azeroth for some reason is integral to the jailer plans ill be very confused.
Why of all the places in all the worlds in the entire universe should ours be super special?
Then again every part of SL needs azerothian dead ppl to be in its leadership for some reason.
It was Gary, he was a hunter and he auto attacked
Azeroth has that “Shiny Charizard Pokemon Card” rarity levels of world souls. He wants it
What did you want to happen…
“Let’s not go rescue Anduin and the other heroes of Azeroth until we clean up this mess, I’m sure they’ll survive in whatever plane of reality they are in for the years this is going to take.”
Ugh world souls
We can pretty much assume it was Denathrius. Based on the timing and circumstances no one else really could have done it. He has the power, motive and capability.
And it was said clearly he admitted to causing the anima drought. While he did steal anima from the other realms too, ultimately there would be no drought if the Arbiter didn’t go down. That was the root cause of all of it and the covenants are in agreement it was Denathrius. So the story moved on to other things.
The Arbiter going down was an orchestrated attack. The Jailer was already moving before then using Mueh’zala to place Sylvanas into power over the Horde. Then shortly after that the Arbiter was shot. So it’s not Argus’ soul (which probably wouldn’t even go to the SL in the first place) or a freak accident. Leaving only his servants on the outside to do it and of them Denathrius fits the bill the most.
The story’s moving a fine speed for me. I don’t really see an issue.
Stories actually being finished during their respective expansions instead of abandoned. Not sure why that’s difficult to understand.
I’m pretty sure we had this disagreement at launch and there was never anything that suggested Denathrius did anything other than horde the remaining anima from the other realms.
Why do people assume the sword in Silithus is “forgotten” by Blizzard?
Which expansion had a finished story at the end? We fought bosses from Vanilla in Cataclysm because they weren’t really dead. The Burning Legion wasn’t defeated in TBC. Yrel has started a cult in alternate Draenor that’s still causing problems. Illidan is flying around on a spaceship. Etc…
Which story have we actually finished? Well, Garrosh…I guess that story is finished now, but how many expansions did that take?
I did. I broke the Arbiter. Mystery solved.
Isn’t it because Azeroth is basically a titan child? And most world’s like it have been destroyed by the legion outside of AU, so probably that is why all the BBEGs target it.
Oh, it also seems to have the only even pro/reactive force in the universe anymore from what we have seen.
If you seriously can’t understand what is being talked about here, maybe try rereading it. Here, I’ll quote it for you:
Stories actually being finished
Defeating bosses is finishing that story. Having treaties signed to stop a war is finishing a story. Making areas safe from a threat is finishing a story.
That has zero to do with the threats resurfacing later. Every single expansion has been “finished” in some way. But I was never talking about entire expansions. I literally said what I was talking about. And you ignored it for some nonsense replies.
Here, I’ll quote that for you too:
You mean how they left a sword in the planet, a world soul still stabbed and other things they never finish?

Wait…didn’t we do all of those things at the end of BFA? By your own definition there, we finished the story.
Obviously getting a sword out of the ground wasn’t the priority after ending the war, killing an old god, and cleaning out the corruption from Azeroth.
And as I pointed out, there are plenty of residual stories that cross-over between x-packs…like a sword…or the long list of examples I provided.
