We needs new players

This is the worst part of PvP for me: when I want to play, I have to sit in queue for 5-30mins. Also not particularly crazy about the lengths you have to go to gear up new toons.

maybe if try hards that have been playing for 20 years stopped trying so hard new players can enjoy a “game” too

food for thought

The fix is simple. Remove war mode, implement pvp servers.

It’s not rocket science.

The low still wasn’t as low because the peak was so much higher. So as you said BFA was bad. So SL started out lower already. Then lost a lot of people to have the least amount of people ever playing in the history of wow.

Did they actually say the fd up? I think they said they intentionally stopped working on it to put more into legion and that’s why legion was a success.

For SL they listed a bunch of ideas that they thought might have been why people didn’t play it (ie villain was bad, covenants locked a few others I can’t remember).

Well our anecdotal experiences were very opposite. I did not prefer SL at all. I played less PvP in SL than BFA which is pretty sad.

Also sadly ludalabs is gone with their article talking about how all the pvers quit PvP within the first month of the season. I don’t think sl was the wonderland you think it was.

It’s a little too early to try to rewrite history, try again in two or three years.

We’ve only just recently started romanticizing BFA.

Hun. This idea is not great. Blizzard has already dumped all resources that could be about rbgs and put it all into arena ages ago. And theyve recently gutted the staff surrouding live events for rated arenas. PVP is being balanced, barely, with what amounts to a skeleton crew.

You aren’t Gordon Ramsey here with your expertise. Artificially manufacturing a “room with an AH and portals to BGs” isn’t going to get new players in.

Youd have people introduced to a game that has always treated PVP as an added bonus, and certainly not part of the most polished parts of the game, to only get to experience the PVP. And not even world PVP! a dozen RBGs that are, to this day, still unbalanced, still buggy and several of which have maps that favor one side over the other. Im sure after playing them a few times they’ll trust the PVE is mega high quality.

Cmon now.

Half the problem with BG engagement is the fact that PVP has always been an afterthought for a second team to tackle.

It’s not going to get better by starving people of the rest of the game. But who knows. Maybe you are the miracle worker you think you are.

This sounds like when propaganda defeats the average thinking citizen into submission, a lie gets repeated so long that it actually convinces some people.

I’m not going to say this is a pvp game bc that would be silly, but during the times the game could be called a success, PvP was not treated like pet battles, it was a pillar of the game bc a huge chunk of of the game’s playerbase actively participated in it and you could tell there was a significant amount of development effort poured into it.

It was never perfect but to just accept what they’re doing now just sounds like defeat, the current blizavision devs are the ones that hate it and have been wanting it to die for a while now, not actual Blizzard devs.

Why would i consider playing pvp as a new player knowing im getting burn by players who have nothing to do in their real life then continue play pvp non stop and crush everyone else. Thank you sir lol

Why would you play any game you haven’t played before then? No matter what game you play there are always gonna be better people then you. So just don’t play any of them! What a genius mentality you have sir!

I think the phrase escapes you. WoW is a virtual world where there are many things you can do from PvE to PvP, to mount collecting, play dress up, you could even be an economist. PvP like many other parts of the game that make it whole, is a small fraction of what WoW is. Next time think before you type.

The idea that you can make WoW PvP into an esport or advertise as such is what pushes that phrase, to stop the delusion from taking hold.

I feel like this is a terrible idea. World of warcraft isnt arena and pve, its both. Most players engage in both, and restricting one or the other would make things even more dead.

Also, they HAD a tournament realm pvp server for years and barely anyone played it.

no they don’t

Don’t think I’ve said this though.

Do you have anything valuable to say that’s worth a response? Because the reply you gave to me earlier is the same kind you’ve typed in several other threads in the past few hours and even tho it wasn’t relevant to anything I said, I tried to reply the best I could.

All I did was point out that, for some reason, you repeated the fallacy that “it’s just a minigame”.

I’m not going to say it’s the most important thing in the game bc it isn’t, but when the game wasn’t failing pvp was clearly not treated as a “minigame” akin to pet battles, no need to get worked up about this, unlike other folks here I’m not looking for a pointless fight lol, I just find that one nontruth kinda annoying, that’s all.

I mean, when I said that it played into my overall idea that WoW PvP can’t be a thing on its own because it’s a small part of the World of Warcraft world. That’s not to say that WoW PvP doesn’t matter because it does to a large chunk of players, but we have to be realistic about our expectations.

Then you came in with “but blizzard is bad!” Like okay man, I get it, they have failed over and over. It doesn’t really add anything to the conversation tho.

But yeah I’m done with this thread cause it’s honestly boring and it was probably rage bait based on knowing who the OP is.

Ha good idea thats why blizz wont do it. They be lost in world of class tunning and drift racing.pvp what? Btw when brewmaster rework comming hard to stack vers.

For me, I gave up pvp when the toxicity hit a critical point. I used to do a lot of 2v2 and 3v3 but I really enjoyed BGs. Unfortunately the nastiness in chat (not necessarily directed at me) sapped all enjoyment out of it.

Yes, because players like you ruin PvP from the ground up. Lots of new players get into PVP via regular and epic bgs. Some of their first experiences are getting destroyed by players like you who exploit the game.

81% win rate in AV.
85% win rate in Ashran.
82% win rate in WG.
86% win rate in IOC.

On regular maps, where you’re unable to stack, you have average to below average win rates.

When players like you are dealt with, PvP will be better off.
