wait til you hear about plunderstorm
Making any game free always creates an influx of new players. This has been documented on many games before and that allure isnât going to change for wow.
The free crowd also has a lot of cons,
common denominators are younger, toxic, prefer using hacks/bots/scripts, donât care for the game itself just travel with twitch(stream) pack.
You can paint a hotel or room (using your analogy) many times over and it wonât change the problems with your foundation like a sinking floor joist. A lot of work would take to repair beyond just bracing and replacing the sub floor. All Iâm saying thereâs a point where you have to come to terms, wake up and smell the coffee.
These free to play , PvP instance, standalone game mode etc ideas are dreams at this point. Itâs just not worth the development from Blizzardâs lens.
IMO a more practical approach would be a revamp of the mmr system. One of, if not the largest, complaints from new players/less experienced players is that they are fighting more experienced players at lower cr. If they can figure out a way to segment players better so that they feel like they are fighting âfairâ competition as they progress then more people may be willing to partake in rated PvP.
Maybe they should stop resetting mmr entirely/experiment with some form of account mmr.
Arena being f2p in an tournament realm kind of setting sounds interesting but how would Blizz make money off that
Do you have data backing this up, because if so Iâd love to see it. I only see websites doing estimates, and those same websites show 0 people logged in to wow in the last few hours. Which is clearly false.
Also Fortnite not 20 years old
Most F2P games end up making a lot of money with either in game purchases like cosmetics, or the Pay to win feature. Blizzard would most likely do the latter, or both really.
If they did make it F2P, which I doubt⊠not really a good idea⊠but if they did, theyâd probably sell Cosmetics and lock the better pvp talents or even a 4th pvp talent slot behind a cash wall. Make it season and character specific and give us all something entirely new to complain about.
This is what I used for WoW: https://mmo-population.com/r/wow
And this for Fortnite: https://fortnite.gg/player-count
I like that you listed the age of a player as a con.
Grumpy old man syndrome much?
Dawg he just wants to be boomed out, que his 30 games per season, get glad, and smoke meats. If that were to change⊠the effects could be devastating!
I do not want pvp separated out. I like more than PvP. I hope this suggestion never gets considered.
Then you pay your sub and nothing changes.
I mean, do you notice the free trial players wandering around goldshire?
Seems like this would also gut WPvP.
I did think about that, but I donât know how to solve it, so itâs not perfect.
But then nothing really is.
I suppose if you want wPvP youâd have to pay too.
This game is washed up. Ive played 3 other games since I last logged in that all have been a much more fun use of my free time. It turns out I dont need to sit in 45 minute long ques just to be a victim to the winds of meta classes.
Im sure ill be back to try stuff out from time to time but there is really no point in playing this game as a pvper unless youre just trying to show off to the few thousand players still engaging in it.
These guys are afraid to balance and improve upon PVP and PVE will always be their main focus. Why should veterans and new players invest time into something they dont even care about?
I randomly decided to check the forums out today and its not a surprise to read the same thread titles over and over again. I wish I could not show up and keep my job too.
Bye Blizz
We need Warcraft Rivals. NOW. A Blizzard Hero Shooter based around Warcraft.
Itâs ironic how someone who engages in sync-queue premadesâwhich actively drive away new playersâis now calling for more new players. Talk about a lack of self-awareness.
As much as someone who tells people to not engage.
Yet engages themselves.
To the exclusion of nearly all else.
Interesting.
Players who have progressed beyond the kiddy pool are not new. They have spent at least a week playing daily.
Maybe you forgot about my solutions to that issue?
The one where you donât have any solutions, beyond a basic statement of my 4th point.
Why would you create a thread and then argue with everyone?
Because thatâs what this dude does. Heâs a 3rd grade philosopher, with 2nd grade debating skills.
Itâs his whole thing. He loves it.
They just need to make the game fun to play. Part of this is expanding on PVP talents to create PVP talent trees so that the infestation of M+ design doesnât keep seeping into PVP.
PVE talent trees and PVP talent trees with different tuning/abilities. Big lift for blizzard but theyâll figure it out.
