We need to talk about Maldraxxus

Is this your head cannon or Shadowlands spoilers?

Literal lore as disclosed by Blizzard themselves.

not much to talk about. Draka is only famous for dying. Only bit of lore there is that demons are in SL (if it’s even canon and not mistake caused by recycled art)

Both Mograine the Ashbringer and Lady Vashj way more interesting than this random orc

Yeah I felt like Uther should have forgiven him in the end of that , not entirely happy with it either.

Bastion short made it seem that place isn’t that Innocent as it appears to be and made it feel more like a religious cult with unfaithful followers . I will be happy to murder than entire place down if it comes to that :+1:

I don’t not believe you but I’m just wondering the source. Quests from Shadowlands? A dev interview?

Uther is an interesting case, because his soul was effectively split in two by Frostmourne. Half of his soul went to Bastion, the other half went into Frostmourne.

The half that went to Bastion was the half of Uther that was filled with anger and resentment for what Arthas did to him and Lordaeron, and that anger and resetment was only fueled further by the fact that he could still feel where Arthas stabbed him. The half that went into Frostmourne on the other hand did not have those same problems and over time managed to forgive Arthas for what he did.

Both.

Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination being crafted in Torghast was revealed at Blizzcon. The Legion assaulted the Shadowlands and the Nathrezim managed to get into the tower and create the blade and the helm before they were forced out by the Maldraxxi.

As for the void invasion, that is revealed in Bastion via NPC text. An invasion by the Void lords that was thwarted by the Maldraxxi.

And those are just two of the threats that we know that have made trouble for the Shadowlands. We don’t know what other threats are out there, since there are multiple universes out there as well, with souls coming in from all over the place.

Because its downright boring and awful. There’s nothing cool or special about it that makes me wanna join them. It didn’t tell us anything or hint us anything…it just told us theres something brewing in the houses of maldraxxus. And the chick leading it is Thrall’s mother whos only big action was to die for her son to live.

The half in Frostmourne mentions pain as well after gaining freedom so the only difference is that he knows why Arthas invaded his father’s Kingdom(because his Soul was imprisoned within Frostmourne creating an autonomous Body with no conscience and a will of it’s own whispered to madness by Ner’zhul) and has been spending time with Arthas’s actual Soul.

It’s not bad. It’s just… missing something, in comparison to the Bastion one.

It was boring and I got more information from the wowlore subreddit than the video itself.

I don’t care about any of the characters and I have no idea what Maldraxxus is other than “one of the covenants”.
We didn’t see the leader actually die, so my assumption is he’s not really dead and is being help prisoner somewhere or he faked it.

I think the fundamental thing is who is Draka as a character? Does she still remember Thrall? Does she miss him? Does she miss her family? These are all things that would relate us to her, but it’s missing.

Yeah, I don’t care about Draka outside of “How will she react when she sees Thrall?”.
Other than that, she’s just another NPC that will probably give me a bunch of dumb dailies while saying the same 5 lines whenever I click on her.

She’s an outlaw now, which I dig.

It felt too much like Garona 2.0, which isn’t wrong. I just wish we saw some struggle of her trying to remember her past but her memories faded in time or something? Would’ve clutched my heartstrings tbh, and it’s fun in a word play sense because she becomes the real ‘thrall’.

I’m choosing necrolords myself, but the short itself was extremely weak next to bastion. Made zero sense nor why do I even care about Draka of all characters.

draka was kind of barely even a warrior, and a member of one of the least aggressive clans.

she’s a bad fit for this. grom, blackhand, toranaar(king of the aldrachi, an as yet unseen race), broxx, any of them would have been cooler.

learning more about toranaar and the aldrachi people would have been super cool, though i feel like him and broxx could possibly be obliterated down to their complete soul, since it was the legion killed them. that’s also why i hope we don’t see varian in shadowlands. no hate on varian, i liked him, but gul’dan obviously obliterated him. don’t ruin fel by making its main property non-existent.

if it had to be a woman, which i don’t really see why it matters, there was warlord zaela, lady vashj could have been more prominent, any others with more decent lore. draka just doesn’t fit in this at all.

Blizzard has always been the top dog in the cinematic game. Why they haven’t just made a tv series yet is beyond me.

Please take my money and make moar

Honestly it was garbage compared to the Uther/Arthas one.

Why does every damn orc just casually change classes to suit the story? Have some damn consistency blizzard.
