This cinematic is yet another awesome one from Blizzard!! I can’t understand why you aren’t all talking about it on the forums right now.
Draka is cool, and I am definitely choosing Maldraxxus as my covenant because you know…I’m undead.

I thought it was pretty good, tbh.
I’m definitely gonna have a maximum warrior just for maldraxxus, maybe even my Maghar dk too.
A lot of people are complaining that it’s underwhelming, I think what they should have done is bring Kel’thuzad into the cinematic that may have helped a little.
Maldraxxus unfortunately does no live up to the hype and advertisement.
The story comes off as very unfinished on Shadowlands, because it’s very obvious they want to tell more of that story in a patch rather than the launch of the game.
So it comes off as the weakest of the four.
Well that’s because like Harbingers: Gul’dan and Warbringers: Sylvanas, Afterlives: Draka is going to be shown in-game as part of the Maldraxxus story campaign.
It was weaker than Bastion, but still good.
The zone looks like crap from the pics I’ve seen.
Well what did you expect? Shining beauty from a zone filled with undead and bones?
The problem has been that Blizzard has tried to be cautious with well known lore characters, not wanting to tarnish their legacy memories and whatnot but I think the fans do want to see the return of some of these.
In reality we didn’t really see much of Draka at all, and that’s because before most of the games she was already dead.
I think though given how well the Bastion cinematics have worked, they should be a bit more daring with using well known characters
A little more detail perhaps. It looks like Icecrown meets Eastern Plaguelands. Except even more barren.
As someone playing the beta? That’s what it is.
Makes me wonder if we’re going to see her husband over there
It was a good cinematic but as others have said it’s missing about 70% of the contextual story, which we can assume will play out in the actual game.
Uther’s video had an existing, well known story and a clear climax and ending. We don’t even know who the villain is in the Draka story. It’s narrative blue balls.
In all the pics I’ve seen, there appears to be nothing in the zone.
No. Durotan is in the Shadowlands, but he is not in Maldraxxus. He is in one of the other realms, of which there are an almost infinite number.
Everything about them is getting nerfed on the beta, so have fun.
Maldraxxus is weird. Why have a zone in Shadowlands that borrows so heavily from the undead? I also don’t understand why a realm of the dead would need an army or why that would be an afterlife that people would be assigned. Conscripted to fight an eternal war? Who are they fighting against?
I love these shorts from Blizz, just like the WoD ones
Talent is there !! but not ingame
Honestly the only hate I see towards the Maldraxxus short is “cause it’s not as good as the Uther one”, which ironically the Uther one outside of seeing what Arthas meant by saying “All I see is darkness” which happened after you defeated him…it was pretty trash tier.
Oh another Hero going dark side confusing his morals…yea that hasn’t been done numerous times in WoW…
That was like the good thing about Uther, he was lawful good and now he went down the vengeance path that almost every damn WoW character has gone through…but hey it’s “cool” right?
SMH
The army of Maldraxxus defends the Shadowlands, and despite the fact that it is the realm of the dead, that does not mean it is unreachable. The Burning Legion invaded at least once that we know of, and the Void Lords also made an attempt to invade the Shadowlands at least once.
Both times failed as a result of the Maldraxxi, but the Burning Legion managed to get out of there with Frostmourne and the Lich King’s armour (including the Helm of Domination) which were both forged in Torghast.
