We need more then 50 toon per account

And what exactly does that prove that can’t easily be known already? This whole “prove it” and “demonstration” bs makes zero sense. What are you trying to prove? Did you not read why people have all of these characters? Did people just decide to ignore everything that’s been posted?

FIrst if I had gold piece for each time Blizzard actually did something based on our feedback, I’d be in Topper mcnabb’s business.
Second; this has been stated earlier; blizzard has all the tech data they need, about who has what and how often.
FInally you are entitled to your opinion but who dsays we got to prove anything to you. Blizzard is the only one needs to be proven.
TL:DR more opinion on your opinion

You only speak for yourself. So, I guess you hate doing content… for some reason…

The cost of the storage is not as high as you think it is. Also, the cost could be a one time purchase on the online store to add more character slots to your account.

This made me laugh

Have Blizzard spend more time and money into more storage so that the minuscule population of players that have 50 toons (which they dont entirely use) can have even more?

No thanks- sounds like a hoarder issue to me. Nobody plays 50 characters

Either have an addiction issue or are retired/no job + addiction issue to play 15-20 characters a day and actually do stuff for an hour or 2 on each, and some think more than 50 characters on acct is needed…? I can barely play 3 a day without getting burnt out now-days in this state of the game

You said you don’t have money but you agree with this? If you can pay for more slots, you can pay for another account. Problem solved.

You’d lose that bet. I have 50 characters on one account and 7 on my second account. They have all been played. I created all their names, and I know them all.

Perhaps if you’re having trouble remembering names you should come up with some mnemonic or something?

No one needs to “prove” anything to internet strangers like you whose goal is to waste our time by forcing us to delete all characters that aren’t played EXACTLY like you.

What are you, a raid logger? Why would anybody want to be that? I don’t understand. Justify your existence to me.

The reason is that Ion doesn’t understand how or why people play the game different from him. He doesn’t want to know.

People who think like Ion are the one who control the direction the game’s future will take.

Not everyone is like you.

Yesterday I did the Stormsong cache on 13 toons, I took 2 level 80+s to Pandaria, doing the intro and a few quests, I leveled a 112 rogue to 113, leveling pets against Amalia in Dalaran, I battled other tamers on 6 other toons, I did the Orgrimmar cooking and fishing on 4 hordies I’m slowly leveling, I looked after my auctioning on ~12 realms, which meant using alts on each realm, I did crafting on a few toons to make more gear and pets to auction, I accessed personal guild banks, looked after by more low level alts, on a number of realms to get the mats I needed and store other mats, I looked after several of my many garrisons, I did the ship mission table on my leveled hordies…

I think that’s all, but there might be more stuff I’ve forgotten.

Of course I do work very efficiently, things don’t have to take long, and playing a character does not necessarily mean playing 1 - 2 hours every day. Tomorrow I’ll be working on different toons.

So you talk to him regularly to know this? Or are you just typing/talking out of another orifice?

You have no idea what he knows but whatever it is, it’s definitely more than what you know. Do you even know his history with the company?

Blizzard has controlled the direction of the game’s future since inception, period.

why do you need that many alts…

Storage space seems like a fake problem when the game permanently remembers every character I’ve ever deleted over level 60, including an army of death knights. I’d gladly have them bump up that number to level 70 or 80, which in my case would probably free up around 20 deleted death knight slots in memory as well as some others, in order to add more playable character slots.

My friend who has been having to constantly deleted characters on his 10 plus year old account made a new character the other day and of course I get the grumble I have to delete something now.

Anyway, to make a long story short he decided to transfer a character over to a server I was on and then about an hour after he gets there, I hear a ‘I wonder how much gold I have on this lvl 60.’ I told him I didn’t know you already had a character on this server and he says neither did I. You are the exception if you can remember all your character names, a lot of people can’t even remember where all their characters are.

The amount of people who actually want one of each race/gender combo is probably really low, so investing dev time into adding more slots probably isn’t worth it.

Plus currently you can have one of each race/gender atm (Theirs 42 different race/gender combos currently ingame)

Do you really need more though? Being an RPer with a toon for every situation is about the only way I can imagine having 50 characters and having them have any kind of relevancy.

If I manage to get 3 to max level during any given expansion, I consider that impressive. I have a half dozen alts who are doomed to remain at whatever sub-100 level they are currently sitting at.

Shame to see so many get so defensive and even aggressive to my replies.

I firmly believe no one here actively plays 50 characters. I believe the world of Warcraft development team believes this as well.

Show them they are wrong. If you are passionate about making this change happen, force their hand.

Call their bluff and explain and demonstrate what you are actively doing doing with 50 characters and why you would need 51 or more.

Its the best way to get change. If you guys want to just talk about stuff, feel free to continue with that, but I believe you can act as a catalyst for change by backing the development into a corner with your combined evidence.

For context, i believe this to be the best route because a similar situation happened in legion. People who were playing tons and tons of hours in preparation for raids reached an undisclosed “cap” on the amount of legendaries obtainable, despite development saying it would be impossible to do so and that there would be no actual limit.

People didn’t just talk about it. Dozens of competetive players pooled their experience backed up with thousands of hours of vods, armory data, and logs organized in a way blizzard couldn’t ignore.

Development had to respond, and they did and admitted their ideas were flawed and unfair to those players. They were called out, embarrassed, and the change was made in the favor of the players.

I can see the exact same thing happening here, provided the people claiming what they are are being truthful.

If that offends you, Im sorry, but use it as fuel if it must. Prove me and others wrong and you may just end up contributing to a really cool change for the game.

I for one, would love to see it.

Your assumption is that just because someone isn’t actively playing a character that means they don’t have desire to play the character again, and said character is disposable. This is entirely inaccurate and you are failing to see the actual issue.

If you make one of each race and gender, you’re at 44 characters.

Doesn’t leave a whole lot of flexibility for much else.

But what do you really need that many toons for? At that point would more slots even help or would the new goal be to have one of each race and gender and class? Then would it extend to having each race, class, gender and hairstyle? When does enough become enough?

Plus, like it has been mentioned, adding more character slots requires more infrastructure, more storage…it’s not a matter of changing a few digits around.

There are only so many hours in a day. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against people who like having a ton of alts, I simply question why and how many is enough to actually satisfy. The game exists past the character creation screen.
