I create characters to help me reach my goals. If having a character on this server, that server, and the other server will do that, then I’ll do it.
After I more or less reach my goals, I wouldn’t dream of deleting characters I don’t need at the moment, because if I do I might have to start all over again and reroll and re-level them at some point in the future.

Yes it is needed. Every character that sits unplayed is a monument to the memories I made during that period in time. Just because you no longer play them it doesn’t mean they no longer have value.

You are welcome as I said, I made an abundance of Draenei chicks on my account you see, and I won’t a single one of them as most of are over level 100 now.
If I had known that they would come up with the idea of Allied Races, I wouldn’t have made so many Draenei females but now I have Draenei females everywhere. Don’t think I have a Draenei female hunter atm though not sure.

Well this is another thing we need to have fixed.
Either allow hyphens, a space, and apostrophes or do something more to fix the naming restrictions. It’s dumb when tons of NPCs in game have names of a certain variety, yet we can’t make our character have the same sort of name. Examples are Elves and Zandalari who often have an apostrophe in their name.
I also agree that we need more slots.
Allowing us to purchase them would be fine with me, I’d just use gold.
I’ve been making new character on both factions of the new races and quite like them. Sure I don’t quite play them all just yet, but I still like them and want them and plan to do so.
Uh oh, he’s assuming there’s only two genders! Joking… =D

Very true, i wish they would lift this. It really shouldn’t be a problem for paying subscribers after 15 years.

Well there’s actually 2 genders for each race except Draenei female that for me has a sub-gender of every class
I’ve wondered if that means you have one class of each variety of Draenei female. Regular and Lightforged? =D
Which could be made worse if we ended up with Broken as an allied race. Although, they wouldn’t be quite as foxy.
Alright some people have need for more than 50 slots, I can’t imagine myself needing 50 slots, but some players do.
Memory is dirt cheap, so Blizzards reasons for capping at 50 cannot possibly be related to maint or cost.

They want you to buy more subs
No, i meant actual fact. Like make a timelapse video of your month on wow demonstrating activity on all 50 characters.
Make a spread sheet that pulls from the api all their activities and monitor outputs demonstrating they are active.
Things like that.
Im saying that, because everyone always claims they need more slots but I dont believe anyone does, they just dont want to delete toons they made years ago but never play. I understand that, but i hope others would understand development’s position too.
If you or anyone else can demonstrate that you actively require more than 50 characters and present this without hostility to them, i think they would be receptive because when it was said it just felt like a default position. To say that no one actually uses 50 characters is pretty logical to me, but id be interested in learning the odd case where id be wrong and why.
If you ask for ten more slots and they give it to you. Then what? People just keep asking for more and more slots. There has to be a cap somewhere. 50 is pretty generous.
Sometimes you have to take the “no” and move on.

They could make it 200 and people would whine that wasn’t enough.
“But I can’t have every race/gender combo for each individual spec in the game!”
Nobody is buying that anyone is genuinely attached to 50 characters. I’d bet the people claiming that couldn’t name even half of them from memory.

well I am sorry we value different things in life. I am a person that doesn’t care to have what most view as a “life”. I simply don’t want it. I am content with a job that pays me enough to cover necessary expenses and entertainment. Thus I give a lot of my freetime to video games because that is what I want to do in life.
This is what modern advances provide. We no longer have to contribute everything we have to advance society and preserve humanity. We are at a point where humanity will be just fine with some people deciding to do whatever they want with their lives.

For those against increasing account cap this is the very definition of “Your fun is wrong”
I am sorry that we as people enjoy different thing. I like to RP. Therefore I create many characters to fulfill various racial/class fantasies.

I’m with Fliktarg, I won’t make that many, or more, but I wouldn’t care if the limit was higher, and I certainly wouldn’t be such a marg as to ask another player for proof that their way of playing is valid.

For now. They keep asking for feedback on people at cap or near the cap.
So they may be considering upping the cap.

And Ion has no idea what he’s talking about. Because the pint has nothing to do with not actively playing all of them. We don’t like getting rid of characters, because they’re useful for RP, gathering, helping friends at different levels, etc. We pull them out on occasion, not consistently. And we have attachments to them.
To say “you don’t play them all, so you don’t need more” is just being ignorant and insulting.
