Want more than 50 toons? Get another account. It’s not that expensive.
P.S. To those who don’t get why some people want more than 50 characters: What on earth does actively playing each toon have to do with anything? I have hundreds (at least) of books. I’m not “actively” reading each one every day/week/whatever. Should I therefore have to get rid of bunches of them to make room for more? No. Instead, I just put up more bookshelves.

I decided to make room I delete some low level characters from classic races like my undead male my orc female etc I make these on classic server later.
That’s made room for the allied race.

For now… We will get more allied races in the future. Also, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
They don’t really have any new races to choose from that aren’t joke races
I don’t know about that. I think there will be a few good ones on down the road and maybe even in the next expansion.
It is allied races.
there was a limit of 50
they did not increase by the time the Allied races came out.

How does the addition of allied races matter here? They didn’t increase the account limit when they added belves, space goats, goblins, Worgen, or pandas. The fact remains that there is a very simple, affordable solution for those who want more toons to work with: get an additional license.
I think I would be around the max 50 toons if I got Mok’Nathal but otherwise I don’t see a need. Right now I have 11 max Horde toons and working on 4 more and it is already a lot to do. I can’t see playing 50 toons equally. When I get those other 4 to max I am either retiring the less liked max levels or saving them for the gold emissary quests.
50 toons until before legion was perfect
- but many allied races have increased
- the same amount as when I had a limit of 50
Some time they will increase it …
Blizzard is not taking money out of increasing storage
$ 20 for 10 more spaces …
If it were my problem I would pay it …
- few would pay $ 15 to play 1 more each month

You over estimate how much time it takes to level a character to 120. It doesn’t take long. I would summise it takes longer to make the 1584 posts on the new wow forums than it would to level a whole bunch of toons. Perhaps you need forum addiction therapy?
At 120, characters can perform tasks such as killing Nalak weekly or solo Mythic Karazhan for the Midnight mount. This would make it a regular activity, but would you think it was playing it actively?
As I said, for me best course of action is when wow classic comes out, delete all classic races off main server below level 60 and make them on classic
Why not? Leveling to 120 doesn’t take long at all and a lot of people like the cosmetic side of things and do some RP on the side, wanting a certain character for a certain spec. I’m a bit guilty of that! I’m around 30 characters myself. Don’t play them all of course but sometimes I feel like playing a certain character. And of course there’s the mog hunting!
It doesn’t mess up anyone’s playstyle if they add more slots, or interupt their playtime.

lets do the math;
if you have all 50 slots occupied by full 120s with maxed necks and at least competitive gear, and you only played 2 hours on each one (unlikely,) thats 100 hours.
divide by 24 = over 4 days
that’s over 4 days /played just to circle around to #1 of 50.
I have 42 slots filled. Only because I dumped 8 unplayed toons this past week. Don’t miss 'em at all. will dump more this weekend.
Barring the OCD freaks who would actually follow this procedure for 50 toons, I’m sure most of you with maxed slots could dump 20 and not even bat an eye.
I think what we’re dealing with here is the fact that once you’ve run a dungeon or 2 and have a few silver in your pocket, you’re now vested, and our minds won’t let them go.
I don’t agree with the notion that each character needs to be actively played to justify its existence. At some point alts become about growing a collection rathering than dividing time.
That being said, I have deeply mixed feeling on the subject as even though I’m only at 40 alts, I’m already caught between wanting to fill out my collection of alts, wanting to divide my time acoss all my alts, wanting to focus more on just my core characters and wanting to go outside and get a life.

I have 50 toons and only 1 of them has “competitve” gear with a level 48 neck. Only 2 of them use the mission table, as I am getting my ally alt to Exalted.
I log on to each of my 50 toons each week to do things such as kill Nalak. If I deleted toons to create Allied Races, then I would be forgoing RNG chances at the lottery to do so.
I suppose I could delete a toon after killing Nalak on reset day, then restore it the following fortnight on the day before reset day, and spend the time levelling an Allied Race, but then people would call me crazy for having too many toons.

If another MMO that doesn’t have the number of classes or races as this one can allow players to have 100 slots, then this one surely can as well.

So you think when players quit, they just delete all their characters and there is more room ?
Does that other MMO have to have storage space for over 500 million characters ?
Yup, free stuff like the military?

I’m at the character cap. Because my guild was dead, I calculated how much would be required to earn the 8th bank tab (the Classy achievement). 59 characters are required, at max level. My greatest regret is giving my guildmaster the money to buy BFA not only because she didn’t buy time, but now all the 110s from guildmates who no longer play are not counting towards the achievement and I will have to get all 59 characters to 120 myself. No way am I going to shell out for another BFA-level copy of the game, though that would work for the guild achievement even if it would do nothing for earning allied races----which are account locked.
City of Heroes, where all my friends are going, has a character limit of 1000.
If you actively play 50 toons, you need to reexamine your life.
