My lore ain’t that good. I think one of the side quests goes over it a little in the Emerald dream tho.
The cinematic left me underwhelmed, feeling quite lackluster. As the Horde and Alliance undergo changes, with the replacement of leaders, the shift towards themes of love, care, and ‘peacecraft’ raises concerns for players who have been drawn to the game for its emphasis on war and conflict. What about those who play the game specifically for the thrill of battle.
Tyrande adopted Shandris waaaay back during the War of the Ancients. It’s in the books.

It apparently all went down during the War of the Ancients, Shandris’ parents being killed and Tyrande taking her in. I never read the book, but presumably it was said in that.
That being said, there has never been any mention of it in either WC3 or WoW up until very recently, so, yeah, to a lot of people it just kinda came out of nowhere. It sure did for me. I only ever knew Shandris as Tyrandes 2nd in command, more or less. The general of the sentinels.

Dunno but it’s ebb and flow on different things with the story and it just how it is.
Tbh Having a break from “war war war” all the time is nice so when war does eventually happen… it’s more impactful.
I don’t read the wow books but ty for the explanation.
I always thought of her as a daughter but I never really thought more into it.
