Mean it by the title, healers are like finding a needle in a haystack… where are they all? Even as a tank, I sometimes wait in my m+ or raid queue for over an hour just to find a healer.

It’s the last day of the season where half the dungeons are super mid and healing sucks. Not gonna see many.

They seem to think there’s too many so they keep messing with the role.

-Healing now is harder than it’s ever been, very unforgiving, requires perfect execution of CDs with little room for error
-Lots of multitasking involved with healing where people would rather tunnel on their dps or be in their own world with tanking
-Healers are blamed by default for everything whether or not it was their fault
-DPS players don’t make the effort to use health pots/healthstones/defensives when they should to make the healer’s life easier
-Dungeon mechanics are designed to challenge this role specifically
-Lots of affixes that make it harder for the healer, ie Bolstering, Bursting, and Afflicted
Could list more, might think of more as I dwell on this.
Overall a difficult role to perform well in, but very satisfying to do so.

Maybe above 20s. I did a +19 BH this weekend. To get the rust off before new season. Not sure I used a single healing CD. I think I used ascendance once. I barely used cloudburst totem properly. Was just sorta breezing through it. +2ed it.
Maybe in low keys? I dont remember the last time I got blamed for anything as a healer. I probably have 500 keys ran?

Lots of affixes make it harder for everyone. I barely notice afflicted.

I’ve said before that if someone asks where all the healers are, and we need more healers, they should role a healer and help out their fellow players.

Unevenly affects the healer, like having to heal through 4 stacks of bursting because the DPS couldn’t chill.
Yes, but the healer has to pick up the pieces of everyone’s failure, like people not using defensives for Gash Frenzy in BH when they could’ve negated the mechanic entirely.

I know that. I am saying what you said, having to play the class perfectly and do everything perfect doesnt apply to most keys.

4 stacks of bursting is a joke though? I wouldnt want the DPS to chill for that. Keep it under 8 if I have no cds up.

If the people fail, thats their fault, though. The healer isnt at fault for others failing. And pretending like its a constant case of blaming the healer is just false.

Like you said we are in demand. So what does that mean? That means we havo 0 reason to pug any content as people seek us out and ask us to do content with them.

Who wants to heal when you can’t even compete on the healing meters with the tank, and your bottom of the meters for dps as well.
A tank (with a brain) outheals you, and out damages you. On top of that failed mechanics in higher keys just one shot players anyways to where it’s not healable. You’re essentially just there to heal the unavoidable damage and have the least amount of impact in a run.
The tank and good dps is what carries a dungeon. If you had a 5 man pre-made, you would never put your best player on a healer, it’s just a waste. The better the tank and dps are, the less a healer has to do. The better the healer is, doesn’t save a dps who gets one shot anyways, or save the group on failed mechanics outside of low keys.

there is no worse time in wow to be a healer than now. why would anyone want to work 3x as hard to do content when they can just play a dps and not have a bad time all the time

Used to be a healer and tank shortage but they made tanks completely idiot proof for everything but the very highest keys and like 1 mythic raid boss so now it’s just a healer shortage.

Maybe they will try disc and enjoy it, so much power so little responsibility 
dream role. Just play with boomy and vdh and they will have all the cc and your aug does affixes so you can just look cute and do good numbers. Disc plays so much like a tunnel dps it is awesome now, try it out dps players who want to heal! Run Jak’s build and do something like radience, mindbender, mind blast, penance, swd, holy nova, halo, smite, smite, radience, penance, swd, smite x 6, penance holy nova and smites until you can repeat (mindbender comes off cd)
