Do you not understand it’s possible with a simple subrace category? Click on the void elf, then you are given a prompt to change it to the subrace of high elf. When you select high elf, all void elf cosmetics are locked to you, while all high elf cosmetics are enabled. There you go. You get the name, a racial that does the same thing as entropic but fits with high elf aesthetic, and all the other things that come with being a high elf. yes, even possibly paladin being unlocked for them. At that point, what is not high elf about them? They would have the name and all the features of being a high elf. If the canon counts them as a high elf, well there you go. it’s a high elf.
Because the fantasy is lost when any of the problems I just listed come up? Entropic just ruins any headcanon. The purple blood while sometimes hard to see, still takes you out of it. High elves do not have purple blood. And the hair styles… there’s so few of them. I do not want every high elf character I make (Again, males) to just look like the same damn toon. There are like 2-3 styles that even remotely look normal for them and not completely out of character for a high elf. Do you understand now?
Do you know the reason why I like high elves? Because they are alliance thalassian elves. If I liked the horde then we wouldn’t be having this discussion period. Again, that solves nothing. I will never make a blood elf. Completely different thing. Just give us a few of the hair styles you see on the high elves, and that’s all that’s needed. At least it opens a few more options for appearances.
How can the High Elf community steal something when it actually belongs to Blizzard? Blizzard decides what goes, not you, not me, not the Horde playerbase or the Alliance playerbase.
I have. But salty people will still be salty and tell us to roll Horde.
They already have High Elves - They’re on the Horde, simply dubbed ‘Blood Elves’ to honour their fallen people against Arthas.
Incorrect. They’re Horde Thalassian Elves. There’s absolutely no difference physically, culturally or biologically between High Elves and Blood Elves whatsoever - they’re one and the same. Every ‘High Elf Aesthetic’ added to the game will be given to the Blood Elves, because in actuality it’s a Blood Elf Aesthetic. It’s like comparing H2O to water.
There is no subrace category, there is no need for a subrace category and High Elves certainly should not be a subrace of Void Elves, given High Elves, as a unique race are older and completely untainted by void.
There simply should be High Elves in of themselves.
Literally all you want is blood elves despite the fact you are currently posting on a character that looks exactly like a blood elf and functions the exact same way minus one class and the racials.
You do not need every single option blood elves currently because blood elf players deserve to keep at least some part of their racial identity instead of it all being rolled into void elves because a certain sub-sect of the player base can’t get over semantics over what a high elf is or is not
Okay, they are the same race. But politically speaking, they have differing values. One is horde, one is alliance. High Elves have splintered off and retained their original name. Again, for political reasons. If they followed the blood elves they would be blood elves. Blood elves are high elves no more, they gave up that name and gave up on the alliance. High elves retained that name. They did not give up on the alliance.
So, yes, it is basically like a Pandaren situation. Where it’s purely political. One horde, one alliance. But politics matter a lot… and can change the perspective on these elves completely. That is what I find interesting and that is what I want. High elves now have combined their culture with humans, making a sort of hybrid.
That isn’t really true. I just want it finished. I don’t want this half-baked tripe. I want a finished concept. How is that so hard for you to understand? Either you just can’t wrap your mind around that… which is a bit sad honestly… or you just refuse to acknowledge it to be a pest. Either way, not a good look.
All I asked for was what was used by high elves. The blood elves can keep the remaining hair styles that were adapted once they became blood elves. Those blood elven hair styles are unique to blood elves, and were never adapted by high elves who refused to follow the blood elves back to quelthalas.
It does not ruin their identity. The identity of being the political faction of a sin’dorei is very much intact.
