I completely agree with you on all points. I think most reasonable people do - but these forums are a pretty toxic pile of cynics and trolls so don’t be surprised at some of the responses.
Disagreeing with a proposal doesn’t make people “trolls”. Just an FYI.
It would incentivize the players of the overwhelmingly majority faction to take the server transfers that are available to only them to balance out the server. They can always just abandon all their previous efforts and reroll like they tell Alliance to do.
I read ad hominem attacks empower my argument in How to Win Friends & Influence People too. Chapter 11, no?
You’re right at the cause. And it’s a problem, agreed again.
Faction based queues will NEVER happen. It’s a terrible, short sighted idea with a myriad of game breaking, intensely frustrating unintended consequences not the least of which is creating a false queue when none exists today.
It’s a problem but adding queues is not the solution.
points have to make sense.
Yes a balance server is desirable, but forcing people into a queue is a ridiculous solution.
Were you not here day 1 when players were in 6+ hour queues.
Way to miss the point dude, I did use English right?
Alternatively, the people who don’t enjoy wPvP can reroll as well.
Let’s say Horde don’t transfer off, then all the Alliance have to transfer back to their original source servers to mitigate the queue? Does this not put us back where we started?
Would this not result in the same issues of massive queues? Worse over population than seen now? Would those servers still not be balanced, as they supposedly were not before the transfers?
It won’t do this at all. No one is taking a server transfer because one day they had to temporarily sit in a queue solely because on that day the factions weren’t ‘balanced enough’ in game.
Come up with better ideas. The reasoning behind this one is… not good.
Please tell me your creative solution to the 65:35 or worse servers with 15k ppl . Plenty of people being punished by perma ghost form in high lvl zones and can’t leave the server now because they didn’t follow online forums.
So, let’s say you have a character that you consider your “main” character. If you roll a new character and then you decide that that is your “main” character. That is re-rolling.
In my case, I rerolled from Horde to Alliance last week, and am still working on leveling.
There isn’t a solution needed, as there is no problem. An abundance of PvP on a PvP server only seems like a problem to those who should play PvE instead.
The possible factor exacerbating the angst of some is the mega-server populations. A blanket reduction of all server populations to vanilla levels, with the addition of new servers, may alleviate it. However, we’ve all seen how effective transfers have been at migrating server populations.
There is no way to faction balance anymore. That opportunity went out the door after day one.
Regular transfers will eventually kill pvp servers. 65/35 will become 95/5
Faction only transfers wont work because who wants to go from a 70/30 to a 30/70 without any guarantee that enough will come over to make it balance.
This solution is simply an attempt to offload one’s issues with the game onto someone else’s shoulder, most likely someone who doesn’t get why they are even being punished.
Forget it.
Just re-roll already and get on with your gaming life.
Yes, glorious ‘pvp’
( This side is stuck on the server with no transfers available)
VS
(free open transfers but won’t leave)
Organize, Created a server Faction Specific Discord, Advertise in Trade, “Need 4 full raids to clear the path to BRD”, Don’t let up until those groups are full. Send in sneaky Rogues and Druids to scout and report back. Plan an attack and back up strategy if the first plan fails. You know, PVP, or do you just wanna kill raid bosses?
From what I can tell, organizing a group to kill the opposing, over-populated faction may result in success initially but not for long due to the overwhelming number of enemies which inevitably collect. Players are feeling “out numbered and out gunned” because they are.
I’m not sure trying to psycho-analyze and generalize players on the other side from you is helpful or accurate. These players are not much different from you; rather, these players are just like you but made a terrible decision before the consequences were clear. Obviously these players need to take responsiblity for that decision - what else are they to do? Blizzard is unlikely to do anything (not that they really can). Unfortunately, and as a Classic player, you may want to worry about player loss here. The option for many are to either re-roll or quit. The latter very possibly will be the route more and more players take, to opt out of the game.
Rather than being insulting, being supportive might be more helpful.
Because forming raid groups to get to your 5 man brd group is always the solution. LMAO get real dude.
Your server is essentially PVE server though…Stalagg 10k+ Horde 3k+ Alliance…
Thank you, kindly.
Ahh, another individual recognizing my glory.
