There are zero reasons not to have a dungeon finder. WoW without dungeon finder is terrible.
Not terrible, but Ive always been for lfd so I would like to have it be in.
there are people who are full-time players and are part of a community and they do not care about lfd and there are ppl like me who are part-time and don’t have 30 min look for the group, because 30min to 1 hour is all I got to play this game. The reason I quit playing BC is because no lfd. This BIG myth about how LFG broke a community is so BS.
Yup. LFG/RDF didn’t break the community. What broke the community was all of the cross realm play. Cross realm defeats being able to blacklist trolls and jerks on a server and offers them a level of anonymity and enables toxic behavior.
RDF being limited to server population is the same thing as spamming LFG chat channel except it’s automated.
LFD can’t break a modern-day classic community that never even existed outside of a bubble guild level. Vanilla Classic & TBC Classic had no LFD feature & still managed to become an unsavory joke on the server community level without it. Different times today & different player mentalities. The “LFD destroys the game!” hysteria is hilarious & so out of touch with reality - but about what I expect from people these days.
LFD needs to be a thing. The original dungeon finder in Vanilla and TBC were cool during the time when they came out but Wrath improved it by making it wait times much lower. I’m not sure who Blizzard is getting the feedback from that the game still needs vanilla LFG tool for groups but that seems to be a unpopular decision at the moment. Wrath was better progress as far as UI and LFD is concerned but we seem to be regressing.
Got to agree. This will the caulked up next to the other pillar of “well we are going to start listening to feedback” things they always talk about but then… an example like this arises… and well… we get another shoulda-coulda-woulda.
Honestly, There is no difference from an LFG tool to the RDF. When it comes to community social aspect. Period.
I was going to ask how you’ve come to that conclusion despite the months of argument to the contrary, but that period at the end convinced me. Touché.
Really good counter-points.
Lemme help you.
LFG vs RDF:
LFG = I won’t bring geared characters for the content, I will ask you for your Gear Score and only bring the top Gear Score that whispers me.
I won’t bring anyone that can roll on anything I can roll on.
I will only run Gundrak Heroic because its the easiest and fastest.
RFD =: I get put with everyone geared for the content regardless if I am trying to gatekeep.
I get almost instant queues as healer and tank, while ease 30 min max search as a dps.
One everyone gets to play, the other gated GDKP, tank buying same crap we dealing with TBCC.
Just make your own group and only invite low ilvl non meta specs. Be the change you want to see in the world.
Just because you are a selfish player, doesn’t mean other’s are.
Talk about gatekeeping, who the hell does that for a heroic, maybe you are the problem, not the system.
Fairly sure there is a daily lockout? Could be mistaken though.
And then you vote to kick the competition as we’ve already established you are a careless player.
Exactly the same as LFG.
In a heroic? If a tank doesn’t need the run and they aren’t your buddy, why would they do it for free? You’ll have the same amount of tanks wanting to do runs in LFG or RDF, in both situations tanks wanting gold are going to use LFG as RDF doesn’t give as much gold.
RDF just make the game better for average players and respects the players time. also it removes dead heroics like on tbc when daily is MT nobody even dose it.
Having a real social time listing myself in LFG and just AFKing for hours. Real social. FFXIV manages to be a very social game while still having a queue system for every single piece of content available.
What broke the community was the community itself. The rise of toxicity as people, with little else to feel proud of, decided that they could use their progress on a game to step on others.
The community became terrible because gamers as a society and culture have become terrible, not completely, but enough that it’s impacts are always present.
Perfect example of toxic people. Instead of trying to make a point they attack. All LFG is going to do is waste the Devs time. Lets just say this I have been playing since original vanilla. Which doesn’t mean much. Except this is the first time I am voicing my opinion on the Forums. Because, I believe LFG is a HUGE mistake.
RDF saves hours every week for the casual player who works 9-5 or 12hr days…You can’t argue against that. I am literally one of those people. I got other things also going on outside the game and work. It’s nice just to queue up and enter a damn dungeon to get some XP progress and some loot. The no-lifers can go suck an egg on this one.
I know I said I wasn’t going to respond to you anymore, but I feel like with current real world events… we shouldn’t ignore people so desperate for attention like you.
Literally every person I have met on WoW is pretty selfish… and how grouping is in TBCC and how much of a pain it is to run a group for what you want… yeah I see a lot of gatekeeping going on in WOTLK… but this time I see it being more game breaking because of how Wraith was designed.
Again you just have 0 arguments… just random first thing in your head responses…“LFG and RDF are the same” like… you aren’t even trying…
Give everyone a level of anonymity and you find out real quick how little integrity there is amongst humanity.
There is a large difference. One is automated and the other let’s you hand pick who you invite to a group. Automation and manually doing something are not similar.
