when the millions return and the popularity is so great that it single handedly makes a good will come back for blizzard.

Maybe it wont be millions. But we shall see. Im sure if it does well, the server list will be a tell tale sign after a few months.
As much as I want for this to happen, I think people are setting themselves up for disappointment. My gut is telling me we are not gonna see the results we want.

I will be 1 that will return. I dont have an active retail subscription but will get one for classic.
My fear is eventually wow retail will get back on track and be good again and they will split it into 2. Like Netflix with streaming and dvdâs

WoW wasnât even considered an âold school MMOâ. it was literally the most casual MMO in existence when it came out and started the trend of themepark MMOs.
Yeah but itâs pretty damn hardcore compared to all the casual crap people are used to playing these days.
Thinking probably 2 million will be playing Classic at its high. Will settle down to between 750k - 1.25 mil shortly thereafter, or about half of what currently retail is. So I do believe Classic will make a very large splash. If 300k players from private servers, plus those playing retail, plus those like myself and all my friends that never played private servers but want to play Classic are combined it should easily be over 1 million.
300k from private servers is a bit much. Hell, Iâd even say 100k is a stretchâand thatâs multinational.
Yeah, I think people underestimate how many people are playing private servers because theyâre free.
