We have to pay for northrend?

I must be confused. I thought classic was part of the subscription for live.
Why anyone would have to pay for northrend again seems insane. I played ICC back in the day when it was live, and the entire company decided to xpand past it, now they want me to repay for the exact same game that was already developed? Are they really trying to charge for a game they developed, made a fortune off of 13ish years ago?
It is the same game the entire world already bought. Now they are charging again for it?

Please someone tell me this is not true.

You don’t need to pay to access northrend. It’s included with your subscription. The packages on sale just give you cosmetic items and a character boost.

It’s Blizzards scheme to trick (some) people into buying more things than they need, just like they do with every Hearthstone expansion, they make every card pack full price and advertise it like it’s the standalone game.

I did find it a little strange that the bonus packages are priced the same as a retail expansion+bonus.

Other than that it’s free and I don’t think anyone was tricked necessarily.

It’s just a bonus boost and cosmetics.

I’m waiting for it to go on sale. It’s overpriced AF but I would like the mount.

I can understand the confusion however as others have pointed out you get wrath with your sub. If you want the bonus items ie pet, mount, boost etc. that costs more.

However they have a gold banner on the purchase page saying that Wrath comes with the sub so they can point to that if anyone feels “tricked.”
