We got the combat ress

He is right though…
What did you expect? Insta brez that cost mana?

If Blizz make brez instant on paladin with no relevant cost they should just make every brez like that then. But that’s dumb to ask for and not even remotely likely to happen so the point is moot.

The cast is fine, it’s whatever really. You’re barely missing a swing, that’s completely irrelevant. This is a complete non issue.

I 100% agree, I think a huge issue with the Paladin class tree is that it isn’t “double downing” on any particular strengths.

Shamans double down on Totems, a lot of their class tree revolve around different types of totems, ghost wolf/mobility, and a few niche “mandatory” talents like purge and kick here and there.

DKs really double down on snares, anti magic and this great class fantasy of “tankiness.” I am super excited to play my DK because I have an abundance of tools at my disposal to make a really exciting spec.

What would you say Paladins’ are “doubling down” on? To me, there’s just no direction on Paladins. :frowning:

Yeah that sounds good, do it

What i want to know is why Blizzard is insistent on giving DK’s and Paladins the same “niche”. That being slow unstoppable juggernaut. The 3 plate classes used to be unique in that regard.

  • Warriors had several instant gap-closers. Like Charge, Intervene, and Heroic Leap
  • Death Knights was the slow unstoppable juggernaut with abilities like Death’s Advance, IBF (stun immunity), PoF (knockback immunity), AMS (practically magic immunity), as well as Death Grip, a very strong snare in CoI, and being tanky in general.
  • Paladins had higher than average movement speed (even as far back as vanilla) with the ability easily clear snares/roots.

Practically speaking they sat right inbetween DK’s and Warriors in terms of design. But today they are much closer to DKs in design. Having several abilities that mirrors DK’s abilities somewhat. Like for example: Hand of Hinderance ~ Chains of Ice, Sanctified Ground ~ Death’s Advance(passive effect), and if your really stretch it, Pony+BoF ~ Wraith Walk.

And most Paladin versions of DK spells are just awful compared to DK versions, so where does that leave us? In a bad place, and they’re gonna show how much they really care this month. We will see.

Just like Repentance, which has a cast time because Holy got access to it. DHs and Monks get to have instant CC, Rets don’t.

Worse, we only have a weak part of part of a DK’s toolkit - they have a lot more survival abilities then we do, many of them passive. So do Warriors’ for that matter. It’s the same on Live - DPS DKs get a health boost, and Fury normally wields dual two-handers which gives a nice Stamina boost. Add in their defensive buttons (DKs) and raw (and passive) self-healing, and they are a lot more tanky than Rets, and this is being doubled down on in DF. Now I don’t want them nerfed - Warriors look like they’ll be a complete blast to play and I’m looking forward to playing around with my DK. However, Paladins need to be brought up to that level. Whatever our ‘class fantasy’ is, whatever the devs’ vision is for our class and specs, the design needs to really lean into it and support it.

Imagine Hand of Freedom giving knockback immunity and not being entirely useless in 99% of PvE encounters. Or giving 30% movement speed for its duration. I mean Shamans can give their entire party 40% movement speed with a totem? And knockback immunity for the entire party as well with a different totem …

Freedom did give knockback immunity for a brief moment in the SL alpha or beta (or was it the BfA one?). But apparently that was too much power for Paladins to be trusted with.

We need this imo. Knock backs and other forced movement effects are more and more prevalent in encounters. We need a better response beyond “use bubble.”

Spellward may help at least

Spellwarding will be useful, but if they think that’s enough for Retribution in PVE, that’s a problem in itself.

Can’t wait to have fights where we can’t use Spellwarding on ourselves for survival because a boss mechanic requires it instead

Oh I can totally see it being microed by many raid leaders xD.

So we couldn’t even get an instant combat res like literally every other combat res is?

Why does blizz hate paladin? Its impossible to deny at this point dude…

There are 4 instant Brez in the game. The 3 dk spec and guardian druid, there will be a 4th in Prot pally.
All the other brez have cast time so idk what you’re talking about.
Warlock is a cast on all specs, feral is a cast, boomy is a cast, resto is a cast.

It’s not even 50% of spec that have instant.

Ahh yea forgot about that, your right.

I’m not being fooled by us gaining this ability to brez. Where are our real changes? This doesn’t address anything we’ve been giving feedback about. Yeah great I can rez people in combat, but that’s not going to help me standing in a major city killing level 1 rats because no one will take a paladin of any spec because we are horrible and our talents are the reason.

I still havent seen Holy yet. all I saw was ‘‘Talent moved’’ no clue on where and what it look like
