We got the combat ress

Wonderful but Crusade is 3m for some reason and Exorcism/Consecration suck horribly bad lol.

Also need to mention Mad Paragon was updated to only benefit HoW, but HoW is an optional ability for Holy and Prot.

While most will get it cause its’ just the “right spec,” it still does goes against the philosophy that you should not have access to talents, which effect other talents, unless the previous spell was a requirement.

This is a joke. If they don’t do a major pass on these talents, I’m out. They do technically still have time, but will they do it? That remains to be seen. I’m not discounting the possibility. If I’m being super charitable to them, this could be preparation for a major talent pass, but I’m not holding my breath.

Yeah, a lot of the talents still left in the tree are either super boring (2% haste, 5% crit on BoJ, 2% mastery?) and/or super awful (Seal of Mercy lmao). No, this iteration of our talent tree is just unacceptable.

Still holding out hope for a pass on ret and holy, but we’ll see. Won’t be holding my breath though.

The thing is that we have mandatory utility to take there.
BoP you can consider situational, but anyone serious about doing high PvE content will take Blessing of Spellwarding, that means BoP is mandatory too, since you can’t have BoS without it.
And reduced cooldowns on all your major defensives through Unbreakable Spirit is really good, would anyone skip over that to take something like Judgment of Light? I don’t think so.

You also put 2 points into the Seasoned Warhorse, Lay on Hands is too good to pass up and, so at most you’d take 1 point there. But Freedom is situational, Devotion Aura can be mandatory too if you don’t have a holy/prot pally.

It’s a minor one at best. You can’t skip over powerful talents or any of the throughput ones in PvE. Touch of Light/Incandescence is also basically mandatory even if it may be weak.(remains to be seen after the later tuning passes)

You’re giving the previous class tree far too much credit :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe the new one will warm up to me… maybe. xD

They did it, omg i’m so happy. /s

They “resolved” the issue of:
AW: Might providing only 20% crit… along with normal AW = 20% dmg and 20% crit = 40% dmg increase roughly
versus
Crusade providing 30% dmg and 30% haste = 60% dmg increase roughly

Instead of buffing AW: Might, they decided to nerf Crusade to 3 minutes.

Well… i wasn’t expecting this resolution.

Or maybe it’s a bug… though doesn’t seem likely.

You know what would be way better? If it was a choice node between Blessing of Protection at a base 4 minute cooldown (unless they put something like Clemency or a nerfed Uther’s Devotion, pleeease) and Blessing of Spellwarding. Two talents to get one utility ability is just weird and purposefully inefficient.

I know every talent can’t be amazing game changers, but we can’t be too nice about it either.

As for the combat res itself, I don’t care if it ends up with a cast time as long as it’s not ridiculously long. It’s good to have it at least and that’s something M+ groups can consider for Ret too. Would’ve preferred Divine Intervention as a name but not too hung up on that either.

I’m suspecting that’s just a mistake because they removed the talent to reduce AW/Crusade to 2 minutes and made AW 2 minutes baseline, so it very well could be they just need to update Crusade’s cooldown along with it because the talent to reduce it to 2 minutes no longer exists in the talent tree. Maybe not, but this seems a bit more likely to me.

I am okay with Crusade being a 3min cooldown and being buffed - it would distinguish it further from just taking Avenging Wrath

I thought they would get rid of that bloat.
I’ll give feedback to make them a choice node from the start.

It’s 2 seconds… it’s fine i think.

Hopefully that’s it, but i thought i’d ask.
Though i’m not holding my breath.

It’s the same as on live… so basically you’re just going to have Live Crusade only on 3 min cd, no buffs.

I feel like this pathing is miles ahead of the last one.
What’s left is really the talent/nodes themselves but progress was made here.

What choices do you really have though?

This is the standard for PvE.
The points that aren’t mandatory there are those in Freedom and Devotion Aura, rest is best in slot.

Not going Of Dusk and Dawn would be a definite mistake in this current talent tree, though.

Yep i took that, because 6% dmg all the time is definitely better than Seal of Might 8% Mastery only during AW.
Then it’s for the sims to go for 2 between Seal of Order, Seraphim/Sanctified Wrath or Mad Paragon.

Edit: I saw now… i didn’t copy the right tree i guess, strange that i only had 1 open with the points there.
So it was a mistake… a copy paste one. :joy:

Possibly an oversight. AW was a 3min CD with the 60s reduction talent and Crusade was changed to match that (since the 60s would apply). The 60s reduction talent was removed and AW was changed to 2min but it looks like Crusade wasn’t updated.

It definitely makes sense.

Though that leaves the initial issue of AW: Might not standing up to Crusade in PvE.
Hopefully that gets fixed during tuning passes.

Avenging Wrath is quite a bit weaker without Light’s Decree
In terms of choices, a 3min crusade might be comparable to 2min Avenging Wrath with nothing else propping it up
Don’t know if thats fun or not, though

It would still be a downgrade from Live where Crusade is 2 min cd though.

But hopefully it’s just an oversight of removing the -60 sec cd talent, like the above players said.

Definitely not fun to have our most powerful CD go up 1 min. :joy:

That’s what every other class that have brez does? Only tanks get instant brez.
Edit: Dk’s all get instant BUT cost runic power which is more interactive to their rotation than mana is for us whilst not being as important as runes.
Personally I prefer a cast to having to use HoPo for it because there might be situation where I don’t have anything to hit while needing to brez.

Furthermore what’s a 2sec cast to re-gain a dps or healer to avoid wiping? Like really?
You’re gonna complain about losing a fraction of you DPS so that you can avoid your group a wipe or save significant time on an encounter?

Not about choice right now but potential path.
As I said, the issue of talents/nodes needs to be addressed but the “skeleton” of it is way better. There are path where there wasn’t before. It doesn’t change the talents we would pick because they didn’t change what they do, as you point out, but the structure has been heavily improved.

I’m still expecting an in-depth review like they seem to be doing for all the other classes.
