I mean with cata inflation and with increase in gdkp, we might see some funny stuff. I can see that given costs in wrath currently and the fact that items go for 1-3 gold caps for heroic best items we might see alot of tokens per player. Add that to the probable decline in player pop as players move to private servers and sod and we might see really low value tokens once cata comes out.
So a wrath server in the short term would undermine such sales. And I cannot be the only one who plans on using the current wrath chars if forced progressed to cata to get easy gold and just use that to buy tokens to pay for the vanilla version of the game.
All this does is punish people who got it legitimately and it’ll do nothing to the people who buy gold.

No reason to fight it. As long as GDKPs exists and the game actually sells you gold at the dumb man prices and people are willing to break the rules to buy it from other sites it will just get right back to where it was insanely fast.
Until the gear though gold meta is broken mostly though gdkp then the dev’s approve of these gold caps. Probably because they can rope in hundreds if not thousands of people to pay the dumb man prices.
no its not, 260k is easy to hit, i have to make bank alts just to hold gold, just make the cap 5m like retail.
Retail is harder to farm gold than wotlk classic. Retail has 0 raw gold farmers, a region wide auction house that devalues materials.
VS Wotlk classic and cata classic, I can make millions of gold without GDKPS or buying it with all the raw gold farms and high value materials.
we need increased gold cap.

you have literal zero reason to have that much gold unless you are a gold seller.

Approaching my first mill myself, would like a cap increase.
Casually making 130k a week, gonna run into space issues.
The gold cap should not be “the amount of gold you can carry” it should be “the amount of gold you can obtain” that will cripple bots & real money traders

I was making 6k a week from farming in classic phase 2, excluding gdkps. 12-15 hours a week. You’ve no idea how many terribads blamed gold selling for that.
Atm I make over 100k a week, sometimes more. I bet the average gdkp hater makes less a week than I made in classic.
You wanna cap gold obtainable? Okay. What do people do who are capped? They’ve made all the gold they can, they’ve spent some but are still capped. Do they make a new character now? What about people who love gold farming? They gotta reroll to play the game? I love herbalism, it’s heckin chill. Do I delete the herbs now?

It did happen back in the day. The cata pre-patch increased the gold cap to 999,999g.
Yep. I had 3 sulfuras on two different realms. I helped fund my guilds bank, our flasks and such. I had consumables prepped for naxx done before phase 2 dropped.
