We don't want flying

I think it’s a bit over dramatic to say the game would end because of travel.
Let’s be serious here. If people quit the game because they couldn’t travel fast and easy, then do they even like mmorpgs?

There are plenty of problems with the game as it is. Travel should be so low on the radar it’s impossible to compute.

Yes, everything we are talking about here is an opinion and I wasn’t not suggesting otherwise.

The numbers do matter and do serve as a data point. In fact both WoD and Legion completion are up slightly from the last time someone made a stupid post about flight. You being a sub and not having it though don’t help those numbers. But you do you and continue thinking the majority want flight

Many of us do want flying.

Then please be conscious of your phrasing, I realize I’m being nitpicky but it matters in terms of the tone of the discussion. Thank you in advance.

You’re forgetting one thing… flying IS content.

I’ll do my best!

No, what you want is for other people to not be able to fly. You want people to be forced grounded to enhance your own game experience at the expense of their own.

Travel is not content imo. What makes you disagree? However some times travel can lead to content that you didn’t expect to engage in like world PvP or herbs or something. Is that what you meant?

There’s a difference between protecting your IP and people on forums crying over a mode of transportation

I saw plenty of people in the air during Legion when they finally unlocked flying. This “flying makes for a dead world” argument is just as bad. There are the exact same amount of people in the world going to the exact places you are for WQs or nodes.

Flying makes the game much better and more fun. It gives players a choice on where they want to go and how to get there. Taking it away robs players of choice.

Also I don’t see how anyone can call an instant teleport whistle then hopping on a flight path that takes control away from the player fun and engaging content. I’d much rather mount up and fly myself across a zone so I can explore than having an on rails flight path.

Travel IS content to those who enjoy just soaring and looking around… it is content, it’s a catharsis… it’s an experience in its self… now if you were talking about taking a flightpath that is automated, I’d agree… but that’s not what we’re talking about here.

Umm… I’m not sure who this “we” is that you’re referring to, but “I” want flying (at some point).

Huh? I never said there wasn’t… There are plenty of reasons… I think you read what i said wrong… I said in order to find correct % of those pathfinders you would have to first understand how many quit before getting it… etcetera… I am not blaming all quitting the game on no flight… That was not my point at all. Please stay on point and do not fill my mouth with words i did not say.

Uh no. The stat would not need to be closer to 100% as a majority is just 51%… There is much more to break apart from your post but i will just stop there for now since we cannot agree on fundamentals of reality here.

Ah I see, so exploring is content. Gotcha thanks for clarifying. I would tend to agree!

You do not get to tell people how and why they like a game or what makes a mmorpg.

The difference? Things change.

You can’t do anything in the air,is my point. Even if you get luckily enough to see them you can’t fight up there or do anything else like buff each other etc

Thank you

Now I don’t think thats quite fair. They have one zone that is completely divided by a sea. However, I agree that (despite we’ll get hit for Horde bias), there should be flying in Dazar’alor. Alliance can easily get to every daily and weekly quest/mission board/coins/etc with the exception of PvP which is still pretty easy to get to.
Horde have to hop on a bird from the hearthstone/bank/portals to get to anything content related.
