We can fix random BGs with 1 simple addition to the game

So I return to retail after so many years and one of the first things I notice in random pvp is that the average player somehow got even… dumber. Like a way people describe it is the hivemind mentality of everyone just sort of following the first guy into a pointless mid field team fight, jumping into the bonus point zone to duke it out with the opposing faction despite the fact 3 orbs are not yet picked up in Kotmogu, chasing down a guardian druid instead of the enemy flag carrier, continually feeding team fights in ashran instead of holding position in the defensively advantaged base, going for the flag…when the enemy controls all 4 bases in Eye of the storm. I mean that list can go on and just about everyone can add five horribly stupid things they’ve seen in pvp in just the last 30 days alone.

BUT there is a way to fix this! It’s actually a very simple addition too!

Mini-quest for your character based off the achievements.

Why and how this would work? Because the achievements are based off the objectives.
So for example if you entered temple of Kotmogu and you get a personal mini-quest everytime you enter to do the all-star achievement but it’s 3 orb pick ups and 3 orb carrier kills and the reward is 100 bonus honor, 10 conquest and 1 mark of honor then odds are a vast majority of people will at least TRY to pick up orbs rather than just mindlessly pvp anywhere randomly in that battlefield. This sort of thing could be added to every BG like in WSG or twin peaks you get the bonus if you capture a flag (or be in the flag room when a teammate captures the flag) and take down an EFC/return a flag.

We could add an objective based quick quest that is re-doable every time you enter that BG and what really makes this a great addition is at least you’ll get rewarded for trying if you lose. So it’ll be a double whammy addition to random BGs. You have less hivemind morons pointlessly standing around midfield and at least if you a decent player who actually tried at the battleground can still walk away with some form of decent reward rather than elevated blood pressure.

I’d be ok with this. It’s for sure not a bad idea. A lot of people respond to tasks like this well. I like how you use that 1 battleground that fighting in the middle actually sorta helps and that’s the 1 they don’t do it lol.

I’d be happy if they implemented this but also reworked the scoreboard to be objective based. There are a few objective based items on it but it should only score objective based tasks… Flag carrier damage, kills, returns…then for the capture camps something like time around flag, bases captured, defended etc. People like to see those big damage numbers but if you are just punching a tank the entire time in the middle of of a road somewhere your damage never matters and your leet damage is worthless.

Pretty decent idea bro. I’m generally pretty objectives-focused in BGs anyway — cuz I hate wasting my time losing. But random mini quests that add incentives, seems like a fun addition. Good thinking.
