Blizzard should understand that their audience is getting old, we don’t have the time we had 15 years ago.
And today’s generation wouldn’t even bother spending long hours even if they have time as we see from their choices of fast paced games such as Mobas and round based shooter/survival games.
Not bringing the dungeon finder doesn’t help the oldies like me and and it definitely doesn’t attrack younger audiences. This is a lose/lose situation for everyone except for a niche who enjoys seeing others suffer.
You remember the “no changes” crowd, they left the ship first, the same is about to happen with WOTLK.
Tell that to everyone playing right now, they don’t understand that every change made was to give conveniences to players, because let’s face it WoW is no longer a hardcore play 24/7 until your drop dead kind of game.
Because vanilla wow is freakishly addictive; I was every bit as much in classic vanilla as I was in original vanilla.
Vanilla wow is why this game has lasted so long, with all its problems and balance issues, its easily the best version of wow overall, and not just by a little.
This game is not for the people you’re describing and it doesn’t sound like it’s for you anymore either.
Please don’t speak for the rest of us. Myself and many others enjoy that there’s a quality old school MMO on the market, and would much appreciate if you guys didn’t take every opportunity to beg for it to be “modernized”. Classic shouldn’t be seen as competing with lobby shooters or MOBAs — it’s for a completely different market.
Please also stop blaming “getting old” for your refusal to commit enough time to get a fulfilling experience out of an inherently time consuming game. I’m also older than before, and even with a wife, salary, and child, I still find the time to play enough to do what I want to do.
Your expectations for what you want out of the game need to adjust, not the game itself.
Give us the original LFG/RAID FINDER. It worked great and best of all you already have it. Take five minutes during todays maintenance session and “plug” it in and turn it on. It works fine we already know that because we use it in the “retail edition”. This current one is horrible and spending three hours in chat LFG IS ___________________ horrible.
Vanilla was awful, unless you enjoyed playing only a very select few specs in the game. Everything else was a meme, with awful gear itemization making things even worse.
I think that was true back then, but the OP is saying those days have past and most of the die hards playing wow, (particularly classic) don’t have the luxury or stamina to play those long hours, do those late late late night raids ect. I think things have changed over the years. I am curious as to the average age group now of the players that play wow classic or even retail. I would be willing to be the old folks like us 40 on up play the classic wow games and the retailers are the younger generation.
