Que times go beyond healers. Its an overall population problem. PVP in general has been in decline for a long time. If the population was higher then ques would be fine. Also incentives or not you cant force people to que so there is no real solution outside of a total overhaul to the system
Healer in PvP is one of the generally most unrewarding ways to play the game. There’s one-shot builds (and bugs), frost mage, feral druid, balance druid, sub rogue come to mind, there’s probably more class/specs who can literally oneshot.
Not to mention the mentality of some other players who get angry at you if you make a mistake while they are not doing anything to avoid peoples global cooldowns.
But… to cut dps players some slack… they indirectly suffer from this as well. You’ll face a 60 minute queue to be faced against meta classes who can oneshot you and you’ll literally spend 6 rounds being shat on by everybody else. I believe the meta classes (frost mage, havoc dh come to mind) are having a blast. But everybody else who doesn’t wanna re-roll every week don’t.
They should just bin solo shuffle, focus on balancing proper arena so that every class has a comp they perform well in and make improvements to find teammates easier.
Replace it with soloQ bgs. I think the entire solo vibe will fare far better in a battleground enviroment of 8vs8 because the huge difference one class has in arena can be mitigated in numerous ways.
It’s called marketing and fundamental ignorance of fixed innovation design curve updates (expansions) to make any interesting changes to the healing role in any significant way.
This is a complicated problem for Blizz to try and solve. Since 2004 healers have been mandatory for ALL of wow’s end game content. There is sense of entitlement amongst healers. Not all healers but a lot. Healers had pick of the litter in LFG. Lose a game? Blame DPS get a new partner in 30 seconds.
DF season 1 many healers complained that DPS self-sustain was so high that the role of healer was under valued. So all DPS healing got nerfed. Hard. Now healers are complaining that they dont have time “to contribute to wins or losses because all they have time to do is heal”.
Lately, healers have been complaining that the class balance of healers is terrible. Fun Fact: Blizzard’s balancing for all classes is terrible and always has been. This isnt unique to healers.
Moving to SS, I have seen countless games where the healer is actually terrible. They go 0-6 or 1-5 because they are making mistakes. Every class in this game has players that are terrible, healers are not an exception.
Healers want rating gains from 3-3. You going to give that to DPS as well? No people think healers deserve special treatment lol. The best way to lower queues for SS DPS is make a 2v2 dps only bracket. Blizz is hesitant to do this so here we are.
