For context for you all: they are limiting access to only their highest tier patron subs ($25 per month) atm for testing purposes (aka beta testing it), after which it will just be free. It’s not meant to be like Zygor where it is permanently behind a paywall. So eventually it will just be a regular addon you just nab from curseforge.

RestedXP has a free version that allows you to upgrade by paying to get around this.

The ToS makes it very clear that’s a violation as well. No part of the addon or its functionality should be behind a paywall. A premium version existing is just as much of a violation as just charging for the entire thing.

I have requested all data about my character’s be hidden from RaiderIO, and I’ve done the same about WCL. If the group is that parse obsessed that they need to see my logs, then that group is one I’d absolutely hate and would drop anyways.

They avoid someone they assume is bad, I avoid a group that is advertising a level of toxicity I don’t want to be around. Win win.

They’ve been doing this for other MMOs for months. They haven’t left Early Access so they keep monetizing the users. I wouldn’t expect this to leave EA anytime soon, and if it does theyve already confirmed the free version will not do the same things as the paid version.

I’m not playing any version of WoW that has an addon like this. It’s equivalent to a r/l social score. Everyone deserves some level of respect, and this addon will change people treat others even in casual interaction.

Kind of like a badge you have to wear, so everyone else knows who and what you are to tailor their interaction with you appropriately.

Maybe we can have it give undesirables icons above their heads, like a yellow star or something.
