Ways to improve M+

Some may not agree with this but I know that there are plenty who do but I believe we can improve m+ with just few tweaks for SL. Here are a few I hope you all may consider and comment on:

1: explosive affixe needs changed. Their giving this affiex a well deserved nerf in the form of boss adds no longer being able to spawn them. This made bosses like the first in tol dagor and the second boss of UR significantly harder on boss weeks in particular when the bosses themselves were already well overturned. However I believe it should be nerfed even further because it’s just that stupid of affix. One going off is almost a wipe two it’s a guarantee. The problem? They scale with key level. By scale I mean their hp. At high levels they take so long. To kill you lose out on a massive amount of dps that should be applied to your main target. They need a fixed health pool for all levels. That’s not unreasonable since pulling small seems to be the key in SL.

2: the timer. Many say the timer needs to be removed entirely I am not one of those people however. But there is a way we can improve it. Get. Rid. Of. The. Death. Penalty. For one are you serious? 30seconds instantly gone for one death? Then there’s 5-20sec of travel time depending on the key and mobs and by then that’s almost a full minute gone if not more for just one person. Now multiply that with a wipe and that is what kills keys, not the timer itself. Of people don’t think getting rid of the penalty is a good idea then for all that is good and holy nerf it to like 10 seconds. I’m sure that’s not unreasonable. We are already penalized by the fact we have to repair and walk back.

Quaking: simple for this one: DONT CAST WHEN OUT OF COMBAT.

teaming: only add one Or two extra to the pack (Depending on the the type of add) and make it so we have to pull a normal weeks worth of trash.

Bursting: needs to do fixes damage not percent based damage.

:bolstering: make bosses unable to be bolstered so we can have some fun bosses eh?

Grievous could get nerfed to like instead of topping at 90% maybe 80%

Alright that’s what I got all. Just some ways I really think m+ could improve

I just want some kind of system to punish people who leave/RQ

it’s 5 seconds per death

quaking was already adjusted, it now does 0 damage if people aren’t overlapped, and it doesn’t interrupt food buffs if not overlapped. it does still do the cast interrupt which is annoying.

then it would be either insanely difficult at low gear levels, or trivial at high gear levels.

just sucks.

Is it really 5seconds per death? well in that case I further believe the penalty should be removed altogether, it means is just there to make things more difficult. We already get minimum 5 seconds of walk back time. And what’s wrong with hard at low heat and trivial at high? I’d like another volcanic affix. It feels like we always get one good week, then a long slew of bad or decent affix weeks. But we all know the real fun weeks are volcanic weeks. So why can’t we tune an affix like bursting to be hard at low gear and trivial at high?

There are so many ability that doesn’t hit this. As a veng dh. The only way I can hit it is using soul cleave. It’s such a waste of souls

uhmm? what? It’s only 5 sec death penalty not 30. The only downside is when someone die it does make things harder. Even worst when tank dies.

it doesn’t anymore.

I’m ok w/ teeming. Just give us the same count per adds and add some new adds in the mix. Worst example is SotS where you need to pull about another 5 pack just to make count. Also just move this w/ tyr/fort week.

grievous should stop stacking after you leave combat. Nothing worst when healer dies and you’re out of luck. Even our normal food doesn’t help much to get rid of it out of combat.

I hate bols week. It’s just extremely slow.

funny thing bursting is a non-affix the higher the key goes.

Revert these god awful AoE target cap changes.

They are proving to be a NIGHTMARE on Beta. Regardless of if you think it sounds like a good idea, it is not being executed like one. Arbitrarily deciding who gets to do big AoE and who doesn’t is leading to a balancing disaster.

On top of that, Slow pulling, setting up pulls with preemptive CC, etc were all themes in the two least popular seasonal affixes; infested and beguiling. We don’t need to design them around what didn’t work in an attempt to make it work because they think they know what we want more than we do, we just need you to design the bloody game the way we enjoy it.

We really don’t need to make retail dungeons more like Classic when Classic exists for that dungeon experience.

This is not reassuring me lol. But yeah we don’t need excessive preemptive cc that’s what classic is for

I mean, that’s not an unreasonable change. But I think it already doesn’t do damage outside of combat? (As long as you aren’t on someone else’s at least)

Honestly that really defeats the purpose of teeming in it’s entirety.

Percentage based is more static and easier to manage. If it was fixed damage how much does it do and how much does it scale with difficulty level?
Some classes have higher base healths than others so some people would already be at an advantage/disadvantage from the start.

What is a reasonable health pool though? Something adequate at +7 might be too strong at +2 and too inconsequential at +10. Explosive just need to be better to target and also their spawn proximity could do with work in some situations.

To be honest I think the death penalty is fine, it needs to be something and it’s only 5s. What really needs improvement there is the spawn locations. Nothing worse then killing 3 bosses, dying and having to respawn at the start.

Some dungeons are better for this than others, but I feel BfA has been pretty bad for it in general.

Grievous can be a bit steep at times. Resto Shaman is particularly frustrating on grievous, healing cooldowns? You mean Spirit Link? Ok, now everyone is low and bleeding, oh my god!

I thought bolstering already didn’t work on bosses? Only mobs counted as minions? I honestly have never really seen nor tried to force it though.

Get rid of negative affixes all together and replace them with different rotating buffs so each week is something fun to look forward to speed running through them etc …

For Explosive, AoE abilities need to hurt the explosive ball you’re targeting.

As a bear you have only 3 single-target abilities that will hurt them:
Mangle is on a cooldown.
Maul makes you drop your mitigation to use it.
Moonfire is a DoT, and the balls blow up before the ticks even have time to work.

It’s stupid.

I think there should be 6 affixes at the same time, it’s not hard enough.

It’s pretty dumb how some dungeons have reasonable spawn points, but others have none and you spawn at the start.

why? why not just make every boss a spawn point once that boss is dead.

To be fair, alot of that has to do with people simply preferring things to be easy.
Why would you want to bother messing around with infest when instead you could just mash buttons and do the most dps you will ever see in an dungeon etc.
It’s no real surprise that people preferred affixes like Reaping.

While we are at it, can hybrids have mass rez back, because why the heck do they not anyway? It’s just a trivial pain in the butt having to wait to rez a healer so that a healer can then mass rez.
Like why? It serves no purpose outside of wasting an extra 10s of everyone’s lives.

Remember when everyone had mass rez from the guild perk? Those were the days.

I have never found this to be an issue. some weeks just favor some specs. in this instance, having a hunter in the group makes easy work of any explosive. to that, the healer and tank should be focusing them as well.

the problem is… dying in many cases IS the strategy. if you lost no time for deaths, you could just use it all the time and it would be a massive time saver.

why does that even matter now? if you arent stacked, it does nothing.

bursting is fine in higher keys. it’s one of the easier affixes to deal with with a good group. the main issue is lower keys where mobs die quicker and controlling mob death times is tougher. they just need to scale back the damage in lower keys and keep in the same past 15.

er. are there really that many times you’re pulling trash with bosses?

honestly, the main issue is ALL affixes need to be toned down for lower keys. lower keys should be about learning mechanics. while past 15, they should be basically what we have now outside of grievous.

In my mind, Grievous is the ONLY affix that needs to be completely redesigned as it rewards raw healing output rather then decision making.

There’s nothing hard about casting Polymorph and Sap on targets though. It’s just annoying and arbitrarly slows down the dungeon. You’re just removing mobs from the pull and doing them after - if anything it makes it easier, just slower.

With what?

See previous post.

?

just melee them. if you’re focusing them with other people, a single melee swing is all you need. the point here is for everyone to be contributing. if you have the healer, tank, and at least one dedicated dps focusing them, they die quickly. I’m usually top damage on them for either of my heals.

I see. The almighty power of my auto-attack.
