Way to go Blizzard, you still managed to screw up something good

Old Blizzard > New Blizzard

Imagine being impressed by someone adding “child” to the end of a post, especially after their point was pretty clearly refuted and they had no answer.

No they clearly dropped a ball and I agree with you on that. If the world were not upside down right now critique would be well deserved. But I stand behind my comment that you’re a child throwing a tantrum.

Here’s what I bet…as far as gaming goes , you’re going to be all right. Be strong little one.

The problem is that it wasn’t implemented correctly there are 3 separate bugs as well as the one discussed here.

  • First there are characters that have ALL rank 3 maxed and are still getting the currency.
  • The second bug is that emissary rewards did not work as intended and needed a hot fix.
  • Third there are some people who report that even after logging on to all toons characters were ineligible for the currency even though they have no rank 3’s on that character.
  • Finally the bug talked about here were characters did not receive the currency if they did not log onto other characters first.

The implementation of poor code is a man made problem. There were flaws at the design level and further failings in not testing as it was being written and again in not testing fully on a beta.

From a design stand point it would have been far easier to make essences account wide as this would have been a Boolean check.

But they didn’t want to for reasons so they implemented the currency which is fine, it would have been easy with mother having the vendor pane for everyone and everyone gaining the currency (this could have also let mains farm for alts) in fact they could have copied and pasted the code from the legendary system in legion.

But instead they decided to go with the most convoluted route, on top of not populating the database before hand, they added no means to check if your character was eligible (meaning you had to test by doing something with the possibility of losing out on the currency, although I found out if you can see mothers vendor pane your character will earn currency), nor was there any indicators in game stating any of this.

All of this was discovered and solved by players before blizz made their twitter announcement.

These are flaws on both a code and pr level if you have experience in any type of development field you would understand this.

Perhaps not for you but some people want to switch mains and others have several alts to run different kinds of content or to help with progression kills.

Show me where someone refuted that you were acting childish and the Paladin couldn’t respond.

How is it that people still don’t know that you have to log into characters to unlock their account-wide stuff? It was the same with mounts, it was the same with heirlooms, it was the same with the appearance tab…

Hopefully yes. The entitlement if out of control. Game has never been perfect. Never will be. But if enough of the entitlement crowd quit maybe they can spend time on development instead of appeasing players that won’t ever be happy.

Because with all of those you don’t lose anything if you log in the wrong order and do activities. I was trying to think of a more accurate comparison between these and there isn’t one. These were simply an account wide database that as soon as you log onto a character the item in the databse for that account gets marked from false to true (the reverse can never happen.)

This is a whole different animal as you are gaining access to a currency but only if certain condition’s are true. We had no idea that the game did not know those conditions were true until you logged onto every character and to be honest its counter intuitive, I figured it out but only because I work with programming. I was floored that this is the way they choose to implement it.

One I earned those rewards the same as you. I put the time in to push a 15 so that I would be able to buy a purification protocal and try to complete a 5 mask yesterday. But I was not able to because I was screwed out of an entire essence, that again I earned.

If there had been a way to get them back I wouldn’t complain even though it would still have prevented me from doing what I wanted for the day.

Not being able to get them back because they are short staffed due too quarenteen etc, and they apologise for a mistake they made. Sure that sucks but I can deal with it. After all I’ll have them all unlocked on this toon next week instead of this week, not a big deal in the long run.

But saying that you will not fix your mistake and then trying to blame me as if it is completely reasonable and I should have known better (and if this was true there would never be a twitter post or the warning on the character selection screen,) well I have a lot of words about that but the only thing I can say is that its unacceptable. I will not take the blame for other peoples mistakes and if the only way they can learn this is by me unsubing so be it.

The worst part is the shadow banning of topics and flagging of reasonable posts that have happened as well as the canned responses from tickets that they don’t read. As if I’m not already well aware of what the problem and the solution is. Perhaps if they would actually read the ticket instead of just copy and pasting and then marking resolved they might learn something.

I value honesty and integrity and Blizz has proven to me that they are neither.

How is it that a person posting to scold people about logging in in the wrong order and losing currency, ie you, is not aware that for players who have alts that have different rank 3 essences, there was no correct order. No matter which order they logged in, they were going to lose currency.

Not only did people have to know in advance that they were supposed to log in in a certain order, because the system was designed to remove currency to punish those who logged in and opened chests before the “too little too late” warning, a lot of people would have lost currency no matter what they did.

I see you are speaking for the “entitlement crowd” you belong to, the ones who only play wow to prove they sit in their computer chair staring glazy eyed at the screen and occasionally pushing buttons in a pre-memorized sequence better than all those other players who are losers.

Hello toddler! You need a binky too?

I got your binky! Now go to sleep little one!

Everything is worse than legion. You could get legendaries of your choice at the end with the currency. Now you need currency and unlocked essence to buy stuff.

Do mythics and you overflow with essences…

This grind is a non-issue.

Just glad I haven’t played in 3 weeks… but also sad. Cus I love this game.

Ha ha ha ha. That fun as all can be. I picture Jeff foxworthy saying that.

They preferred to have the system in everyone’s hands rather than have a perfect one.

They new there’d be warts and they hoped the good would outweigh the bad. They mentioned that there were known issues already, but were going to release it anyway.

Account-wide stuff has always relied on you logging into your main character to flag your account; the alternative is a script option on millions of characters which would require more time to develop & test, time to run and likely wouldn’t have the system in your hands today.

Yeah, it sucks to lose that big boost but you can spend the rest of the week working on more from other activities, which you likely wouldn’t be able to do right now if they went for a perfectly polished release.

Where the Hell are My Characters they been Deleted. Is my account Not Safe any more. Or is Blizzard Trying to Rob me?
