I browsed the forums a bit this morning, posted a bit in General Discussion in two threads, nothing extreme. No profanity, no name calling or naming of people, nothing.
I got a bit more energy so moved over to the desktop to be greeted with a sudden suspension from the forums until Feb. 7th, 2023??? I’ve been suspended so hard it suspended me back in time.
I’m at a loss as to what caused the odd back-in-time suspension, outside of my breakdown in the Lounge a few days ago. I understand that was not the place to have such a thing and I apologize for it.
I’m not going to argue it: I know this isn’t the place, but can I at least find out what is happening? The fact I’m suspended until 2023 is really confusing, as unless a severe warp in space-time happens I don’t think that’s possible.
The email I use for my BNet account shows nothing.
I have not seen any posts by you that would have caused a suspension. Your lounge issue was contained and did not cross any lines. It mostly caused concern for people who care how you are doing.
The forums can just plain be odd at times. I get random notifications of likes that are ancient. Like…why show me that now forums?
its a bug that can show up with the forums from time to time. it happens when you create a new character. though im confused as to why it happened with a current account. you can usually just disregard the warning as it shouldnt affect ability to post. its usually just the system notifying you of your last silence.
So, there has been an issue that keeps popping up on the WoW Forums where folks are being told that they need a level 10 character to post even though they have multiple characters that qualify.
This issue has been happening for the last 2 months or so but comes and goes. It has been under investigation and they are working on an overall resolution to stop it from happening going forward, but we don’t have an ETA on when that resolution can be implemented.
I believe the notice that you cannot post until (X - date from the past) is part of that bug. You haven’t been recently suspended, it is likely picking up old data.
I’m afraid there is no workaround that seems to help here. If you are unable to post because you get the level 10 requirement one or the "you’ve been suspended until sometime in the past, you can try logging into and out of the forums a few times, or reset your password, change browsers, try private mode or a different platform (PC/Mobile), but ultimately, until a more permanent resolution is found, you might just have to wait until the ability to post returns on its own.
